When did WEG start requiring a c/c for their free sites?
 

Credit card, check, or phone verify. I know I'm out of the loop on this stuff but I've never seen it discussed.

For their email collection sites?

Yeah, I only tried to join one but when you log in they ask for a c/c or checking account for verification. Says the card will never be charged for that transaction but ehh...........

How much are they paying for those signups?

I checked their site, still says $1.10 to $1.50. :1orglaugh

If they didn't tell webmasters when they made the switch that's even worse. Signups must have dropped 200%+.

that wont work, most marketing done for those sites is ' no cc required, no bullshit'

They do that as an initial upsale and you do get credit for it $10+

If you scroll to the bottom you can enter without paying.

did a test signup, it ask's for the credit card after verifying the email but it still counts the signup..

if you scroll down theres a "No Thanks" link, click that and it will ask for telephone info, but theres still yet another link to bypass that as well..

but yeah, this will stop a lot of surfers from even going to the members area..

kinda smart in a way.. probably saves them a hell of a lot on bandwidth just by confusing the fuck out of their surfers

If you are on the classic program more people would likely cancel I'd imagine. Maybe the immediate upsell makes up for it.

those pages have always been there, however there are links to get to the free stuff without giving your credit card number or phone number. you get credited with the signup before all that though.

I think WEG captures everyone's CC info and stores it..this way you can 1 click join on all the sites...without having to pull out you cc again......Jettis allowed that...dunno if Epoch will unless they have a deal in place beforehand...Email game is a lot tougher than it used to be for sure!

I think most email programs work the same way.

You signup for free with just an email then you are prompted to enter cc or check info ( as an upsell ) but is never required to make the initial free email $$$

Most of them will credit you for the email plus the upsell .

I run plenty of numbers through wegcash and they are pretty close to the other email programs as far as conversions go.
And not much change in the last month.
