Would you attend a webmaster event . . . ?

So, I am talking to this chick that wants to attend an upcoming webmaster event, but she is afraid that industry people might be uncomfortable with her presence because at one time, long ago, she had a relationship with someone that might be there.

Would you pass up on the networking opportunity simply because an ex boyfriend or girlfriend might be there, or do you feel that we are adults and should be able to separate our business lives from our personal lives?

Zoe_Zoebaboe 08-22-2004 12:23 AM

Heh, come on guys.

It's making me feel like i'm back in grade school. Just stop and get over the immature bs. If you ended a relationship, no big deal. It happens, life goes on. There's no reason to change your life around it.

I say go for it, i know there's plenty of good reasons to go, and to stay home to hide from an ex is silly.

agreed . . . we are talking about moving on with your like, and how the hell can you expect to succeed in this biz if you are going to be afraid to attend networking events for fear of who may or may not be there?

freeadultcontent 08-22-2004 12:27 AM

Biz is biz, and if you can not deal with the fact you dipped your pin into company ink, or you used a company pin. Grow up.

No need to not go just because of that. I say go. It's only as good as you make it.:glugglug

freeadultcontent 08-22-2004 12:31 AM

Well as long as you either do not drink do not do drugs, or can handle either of them and will not either make a scene or hook back up.

Webmaster events can be a great resource, i always try to find anyway possible to get to them. Don't let some middle school bullshit get in the way.
