I have a 505 series, no problems with it whatsoever.

You should get an IBM Thinkpad such as R40 or R50 because they are truly silent unlike all other notebooks on the market (powerbooks being an exception) and the Sony displays are very bright but have a lot of reflections, more TV than LCD to work on

Thinkpads also have the longest battery time along with toshiba

I had an old PCGF150 that was my fulltime computer for two years. It took a licking and it still works like a charm, despite the F6 and delete keys falling off and one hinge broke on the screen, so it's a bit of abalancing act now. :) I can't say for the new ones, but the old ones rocked. :)

Our Viao laptop is a lemon. Had problems with it ever since we got it a few years ago.

Good -- but I don't think you could afford one.

IBMs have shitty screens
i have a t41 , screen sucks, its a piece of shit
everything else, centrino, battery life kicks ass

keyboard on IBM suck as well, Toshiba is nicer

IBM kicks ass.. get a t41p or t42p = the best laptop you can get your hands on.

I bought a K15 Vaio P4 2.8 about 3 months ago and it's the best laptop I have used.

I only buy Sony Vaio's and Toshibas.

Both companies make laptops that run like tanks :thumbsup

I loved my origianl VAIO laptop so much, I stopped having computers custom built and went totally VAIO for my desktops.

i have a RS series desktop (looking to buy two more) and a GRX series laptop. Sony's are very solid. I've tried IBM, Gateway, Dell, HP and Sony is a no-fuss no-muss line. Thumbs up.

get one, no complaints with mine.

I've been very happy with mine.

I used to have an SR series (the really small 10" one)... Awesome laptop, I miss it.

one of my desktops is a new Sony Vaio top-of-the-line model i got last month... very happy with it so far

PCG505 sersies are the best in my opinion.

We now have 3 VAIOs, all of them have been perfect. :thumbsup
