XBOX owners
 

I've had my XBox for a few years and all of a sudden I'm playing a game lately and I'm getting "The disc your using is dirty or damaged" - I brought the game back and even got another one yet it still happens.

Does this seem like a fluke where there is actually something wrong with the game or is my XBOX shitting out?

How often do you clean your xbox with a lens cleaner?

Yeah get a cleaner for it. That should fix it up nice.

At least monthly, or every so many hours of usage. This includes CD players, burners, DVD players/burners, even VCR's.

Where can I grab one and does it have to be specifically from XBOX?

Any music or electronic store will carry them. CD/DVD lens cleaning kit.

Cheaper to buy the cleaner and see.
Not to mention it is deffinatly needed in that household if it has gone that long without one.

Get a cleaner and don't play dvds :P

Sounds like your lens might be on it's way out.

This has been a common problem with XBox hardware.

This normally has nothing to do with the disc.

What I do to fix it is remove all the cords and reconnect them (especially a USB cable if you have one plugged in) and try restarting the XBox.
