The death of a legend

What the fuck is this shit - I just seen alice cooper on a commercial for school supplies....he's dead to me now.

freeadultcontent 08-20-2004 07:30 PM

I just see it as making money and possibly getting a new younger audience who never heard of him.

Spunky 08-20-2004 07:31 PM

Maybe to you...

Doctor Dre 08-20-2004 08:36 PM

Cha ching . You would do it for money too ...

He must have been really broke.

What does Alice care?

He golfs 6 times a week and has a 9 handicap.
That's some serious shit.

I think it's been long enough... he can sell out if he wants to.

Rock on I say.. all the way to the bank.

Isn't Alice Cooper supposed to be really smart? Maybe he realizes that it is good to promote education esspecially to his audience. Whether you are a "rocker" or not you still have to see the value of a good education.

Maybe I feel this way because I am a student ambassador at the college I attend

TurboTrucker 08-20-2004 08:49 PM

He's our DJ at nights, he rocks.

He's too old to be hardcore anyways.. might as well make a few bucks. :1orglaugh

I thought that was hilarious! I saw it for the first time last night. Good for him! It's not like he's in a suit and tie telling kids to "say no to drugs." He's in his rock getup strolling through Staples. What could be funnier? :)

Oh yeah, if he had the snake in his shopping basket. THAT would be funnier.

SykkBoy 08-20-2004 09:13 PM

I love the commercial

the guy has been around long enough to have earned the right to do whatever the fuck he wants......

Vitasoy 08-20-2004 10:05 PM

Anyone have a link where I can download the commercial?

"You do a commercial, you're off the artistic roll call, forever.. you're another corporate fuckin' shill', another whore at the capitalist gangbang, and if you do a commercial there's a price on your head, everything you say is suspect, and every word that comes out of your mouth is now like a turd falling into my drink" -- Bill Hicks

Alice was a beer man.

neewwman 08-20-2004 10:49 PM

Alice Cooper was doing Hollywood Squares years ago.
How is it he wasn't a sell-out then but he is now?

Goatse 08-21-2004 03:07 PM

Selling your art to companies who use it in commercials doesn't change the quality of the music. I thought Zeppelin's Rock'n'Roll was a pretty good song 15 years, and I still think it's a good song even if it's used to sell Cadillacs today. Same thing for every classic song ever recorded.
