I've been doing a moderate one.. takes a while to get used to it, but I've been losing a pound or so a week steady.

After I had my son I didn't lose all the weight. So I went on Atkins and lost all the gain +10. Like any other diet it needs to be maintained. Once I gain about 5lbs I go back on for a week or so just to drop the gain. I feel better about myself at a certain weight. :)

I have a hard time with the Low Carb stuff - but I have other diet issues that have forced my diet to revolve around carbs and carb rich foods since I was a little girl.

I do wish they'd (the media etc) stop with the hype, for some it might be good but for others it may not, everyone's body is different and the low carb thing may very well be dangerous for your system or at least not productive. I think everyone should have to go to the doctor before jumping on any "diet" that changes your intake in a big way, no matter which way that is. For me, I'd never survive and my body would probably kick my little ass for doing it! Fuck if you took away my carbs I'd probably gain wieght not lose it! I really think it should be an individual thing based on what your doctor thinks is best...

just my :2 cents:

My sister has been on a low carb diet for 8 months. I just saw her last week and she's as big as a house.

Do not consume high fructose corn syrup and eat a typical normal diet.

To think people buy into carbs are sending everyone into fat land. Yet most of the largest rice and pasta consuming nations are perfectly trim. Hmm!

epedrine diet

That's because those countries are more in shape. You don't need to be on a low carb diet if you do cardio.

Low carb is perfect for americans. Most of them don't burn enough calories and the Type 2 diabetes epidemic is a reason why to watch the carbs.

I normally go low carb - until I come back to New Orleans . Impossible to be low carb here.

Naps shouldn't be optional. Just because you take naps, doest not mean you're not active.

Hell yeah it is the high frutose corn syrup and all the other sugars americans are used to eating in everything. I do a low carb diet, I do eat whole grains, it works for me. I also do cardio and lift weights but cutting the (white) carbs keeps me where I want to be.

Most peoples problems are the sugar (carbs) and portion sizes. Asians eat rice or noodles for almost every meal but there portions are reasonable and they are more active. They walk or ride bikes where americans drive everywhere.
