My kitty just increased 500.00 in value.

My poor little mixed breed kitty (2nd cat I ever really liked) just soared in value to a 500.00 kitty.
Sadly he is at the vet right now. Something went amiss and his poor peepee is blocked. So he is getting a cathetor and other treatment. He better pull through.

He's lucky. Would have been a $15 ferret with me. :1orglaugh

freeadultcontent 08-20-2004 01:55 PM

He better become a 500 alive kitty. My fiance would not handle his depature well.

Tala 08-20-2004 01:56 PM

Awww, I hope he's okay. :(

Tera 08-20-2004 01:57 PM

I have two 500.00 cats, but they are probably more because I lost count on how much I spent on them at the vets.

God Bless the kitties pee pee :(

My family said that same exact thing. I'm a sucker though...what can I say.

TurboAngel 08-20-2004 01:59 PM

I will know latter I suppose. Just got the damage bill phone call from the fiance, now its the waiting game.

MissMina 08-20-2004 02:01 PM

Sounds like a Urniary Tract Infection. My cat used to get those repeatedly. I would have to manually make him go by massaging and squeezing his bladder.

After 4 or 5 UTI's we had no other option but for the Vet. to remove his penis.I didn't want to but was the only option for him to be rid of it for good. I think he's still mad at me and I still feel bad. He hasn't had one since and he's doing great. Some cats get them aloty and just keep having problems while others just get them once in awhile if at all. I think males are more susceptable than females though. Hope kitty gets better soon.

Jman 08-20-2004 02:02 PM

Damn a cath... I know the feeling :(

Something odd with his anatomy. Kitty just jumped from 500.00 in value to the 600-800 range after surgery. His sex organs shall be departing shortly.

Hope it pulls through ok :thumbsup

I don't understand why people spend that much $ on their animals ... they are animals . If they die, they die that's it . Just buy a new one .

Normally yes.

This one I actually care for, and well I earn money to spend it on people or items I care for. Secondly my fiance would flip the fuck out if I said no, let it die. It is her favorite pet she has ever had.

cornhusker 08-20-2004 05:16 PM

I've got 2, $4000 dogs. :(

freeadultcontent 08-20-2004 05:19 PM

Written estimate - 1000.00
"call each morning after 10am for updates and running total"

Insensitive fuck.

To some, their "animals" are a part of their family.

If they die they die... asshole

freeadultcontent 08-20-2004 05:32 PM

Surgery began and was just called with update.
Apparently it was not an anatomy problem like suspected. You can never really be sure until you open them up. Somehow my kitty got a foxtail sticker up its urethra. It then moved itself up and fuckered things up. Some of the flesh was neurotic, so it is now still in the touchy stage as to if he will make it. Odds are about 70/30 for recovery if I elected for them to continue, which I did.

I will, its my only way to vent. Fiance is at batting cages (that is her way to handle stress).

That's really cold. But I guess that's just how some people feel. So Dre I guess the same can be said for some humans then. I trust my pets more than I would ever trust most humans. :2 cents:

Honestly it is not that cold. It just happens to be his view or opinion. I personally find it beyond stupid that people spend as much money on new cars as they do, knowing full well it will drop in value once it leaves the lot.

freeadultcontent 08-21-2004 08:35 AM

Will have new update in about 2 hours for those that give a fuck.

freeadultcontent 08-23-2004 12:07 PM

Ok so it was more like 2 days for update.
Went downhill for a day or so, high temp, low white cell count.
Yesterday he started making bisquits and being a little better.
Today he is eating and full recovery is at about 90% or better.

Value of kitty is now in the 1400.00 range.

OMG poor kitty!!!!!! (and poor you)

I am soooo happy that kitty is going to make it!! I hope kitty lives a long healthy life and you get your money's worth. :thumbsup

HammerALL 08-23-2004 12:20 PM

You can't really put a price on an animal that you love - God knows how much I have spent on my dog - and will continue to do so I am sure - but they are definitely worth it. I hope your guy turns out okay. :thumbsup

freeadultcontent 08-23-2004 12:26 PM

Also signing kitty up for kitty health insurance. He would of been covered had I known about this stuff. Never thought, hmm health insurance for my pet. Just did typical stuff, shots, balls cut, etc.

So my new moral - if you really like your pet, get it covered. One incident such as this (damn foxtail) was like a few years worth of insurance payments.

Now, can I find a way to turn this bill into a tax deduction. (current running bill)

Firehorse 08-24-2004 12:45 AM

I am really glad to hear your Kitty is OK! :thumbsup

freeadultcontent 08-24-2004 12:50 AM

Thanks, it will be coming home tomorrow. It will also need to be on a special diet until its teens (must find conversion thing, but sure vet will explain).

Now I just hope it has not lost its uncanny desire to play fetch.

TheMob 08-24-2004 01:20 AM

no fuckie fuckie for him for a while

Mishi 08-24-2004 02:30 AM

Watch out for that pet health insurance - a lot of scams out there. That said, I'm so glad your kitty's okay. We have a few multi-hundred-dolllar "free" pets ourselves. If you love them, you love them.

majortom 08-24-2004 02:58 AM

Catheter in pee hole...hummmm

got pics????:Graucho

Mutt 08-24-2004 03:18 AM

my dog is worth more than your kitty, $1700 in the last two weeks, the vet is an absolute thief - first a bladder infection, then back to hospital for 3 days, new diagnosis of pancreatitis, more medications to add to the pharmacy he already sold me, back again for $300 worth of useless test - but like all veterenarians he uses used car salesman tricks on you - just in case i'm thinking it's time to put my pal Shredder to sleep he tells me 'gosh gee, she is in amazing shape for her age, her coat is beautiful and shiney, her heart is in perfect shape blah blah blah'
so i'll keep her alive for him to gouge some more money out of.

in about the last 4 years it's over $5000 in vet bills.

reynold 08-24-2004 03:21 AM

poor kitty...:(
