Ever become Lucid(in Control) in your Dreams?

I had a dream last night i knew it was a dream but couldnt control it and quickly woke up

couple years ago when i use to practice becoming lucid in my dreams
i actually controlled it :)

basically you need to recognize time is going way to fast.. and i had to observe a real object that proved to me that it was a dream.. i looked @ my watch and it was 14.98 which was like wtf? then i realized i was in a dream taking advantage i started flying .. had couple orgies and i forget what else i did but becoming lucid in a dream is great...

anyone have a similar experience?

C-Bass 08-20-2004 09:24 AM

definetly something to try....

B40 08-20-2004 12:55 PM

Happend to me once or twice...

warlock5 08-20-2004 01:29 PM

A couple times. Its very wierd :thumbsup

Bill8 08-20-2004 01:37 PM

Yes, many times. I like it when I get the "Oh right, I'm dreaming" realization. Then, while I suppose it's kind of a cliche', I often "fly". Sometimes it's easy, sometimes it's not- and depending on the stage of dreaming, the experience can last many subjective minutes, or collapse back into the uncontrollable dream state.

NoCarrier 08-20-2004 01:40 PM

Want to know hear something fucked up?

I tried to do it, but I was dreaming that I was having a lucid dream. In my dream, I knew I was having a dream. So I tried taking control but it didn't work because I was only dreaming about the lucid dream.

I was really pissed at my "subconscious". :1orglaugh

I've always wanted to buy one of those novadreamer devices, but never felt like plopping down the money...

I believe Lucid Dreams usually occur while you're waking up, sometime in between sleeping and waking when you begin to become conscious, that's why most people wake up before they can actually take control.

But sometimes something triggers and you're just like, wait a minute, this a dream. That's when you can really take control, if you can handle it and don't wake up.

The best ones are the ones where you are having a dream, especially a Lucid Dream, and someone wakes you up, then you go back to sleep a couple minutes later and you continue the dream and control it still.

And if you've ever flown in a dream, you're pretty lucky.

I've done it a few times, but MOST people never fly in their dreams, they've got too much of a grasp on reality.

Interesting stuff. There is something called sleep paralysis you can get if you are waked at the right stage during your REM sleep (the deepest sleeping phase, named after its characteristic Rapid Eye Movements). Sleep paralysis will basically give you awake and aware dreams while not being able to move anything other than your eyes, since the brain more or less shuts down your control of your body while asleep so as to not act out your dreams.

I also know that there is a legal tea available that gives you very lucid and controllable dreams. You better fall asleep when you have taken it though, or you'll start hallucinating. lol. I can't remember its name at this point, it was just something I read an article about a while back.

I think that within a couple of decades we will have the technology to "dream" in a 100% controllable state whenever we wish, or at the very least affect the strength and theme of the dreams. In fact, crude versions of this technology we already have. I saw a documentary on Discovery channel on which some researchers had some kind of a machine that was able to affect the brain waves of a person inside a room that was proofed of all human perceptions (sight, sound, etc). People who where put into this "machine" while awake almost instantly got perception hallucinations such as the feeling of hands pulling their legs or touching their genitalia. As scientists learn more and more about the human brain, we will certainly witness the birth of a new entertainment industry.

Never happened to me . I wish I could :P

zzgundamnzz 08-20-2004 02:09 PM

If I could have control and consciousness in my dreams I would start questioning which is really real?

The dream or our perception of reality

Or perhaps reality is all just the fantasy of some omni-scient consciousness. How else can we explain the original creation of matter at this point? lol

EviLGuY 08-20-2004 03:11 PM

AudreyLive 08-20-2004 03:15 PM

It never happened to me! I try hard though lol.

I hope I will be able to do that one of these days!

Hardcore J 08-20-2004 03:26 PM

Happened to me not more than a week ago ..

rakeback 08-20-2004 03:36 PM

Go watch the movie Waking Life.

It's all about that

Personally I find out I'm dreaming when I try to tell what time it is or when I try to see if I can change the light level of wherever I am.

Lucid dreams can be soooo fun.

Raf1 08-20-2004 03:37 PM

it's strange, because I have a hard time with falling asleep, but I have dreams every night and I can usually control them. Once in a while I have blurry vision or run very slow, but it doesn't make a big difference, because I always manage to overcome it. Dreams after smoking weed or drinking are the best :glugglug

ytcracker 08-20-2004 04:36 PM

happens to me sometimes

Carol@Pixipay 08-20-2004 04:47 PM

I can go in and out - as far as what I am dreaming about, thats actually kinda fun, I can do it really easily if I wake when I dont want to, initially as I fall asleep it's a little harder but damn satisfying at the same time

I can also bring someone in if I need them in there for some reason (not physically but I can bring them into the dream if I want them there)

I can wake myself up if the dream is too much for me (I also have very vivid dreams so it's handy) - problem with this is sometimes I go right back into where I left off and I end up not resting well....

I have recently been trying harder to control the events, rather change them. I've only been able to really do that a few times and I'd like to do it more. All I can really do is pull in people I need and go in and out of them pretty easy

Big Cheese 08-20-2004 05:04 PM

I can do it sometimes when I'm falling asleep. Your still awake to the point that you can control things, which is cool, but I tend to go into deeper sleep soon after. Not sure if that's quite lucid, but it seems close enough.

BRISK 08-20-2004 05:06 PM

How do you know you're not dreaming right now?

What!? It's not that hard to understand. :1orglaugh

When you're having a lucid dream, it's because you know you are dreaming so you can take control and do whatever you want.

Well, I was dreaming that I was having control but it was fake, it was just a dream. Get it?:1orglaugh

smoke some salvia before going to bed (regular leafs, not the extract).. and that will help you a lot in lucid dreaming :)

Meloman 08-20-2004 05:30 PM

I can never remember my dreams. Whenever something really cool happens in my dreams I instantly realize it's a dream and I wake up.

It really sucks when I'm dreaming I'm about to fuck Pamela Anderson...right before it happens I wake up cause I realize it's a dream, LOL

woj 08-20-2004 05:46 PM

used to happen to me all the time few years back... not lately for some reason though... :-/

DWB 08-20-2004 06:03 PM

I do it from time to time. The trick is you have to realize that you are dreaming. Once you do that, and really know that it's a dream you can control it.
