Roger Clemens to be a member of the RED SOX once again???

10 Days ago the Astros put Clemens on waivers and the red sox claimed him...the astros pulled clemens off of the waiver wire and talks have begun between the redsox and astros that could bring Clemens to the redsox pitching staff for the last six weeks of the regular season.

Tell me how fucking great would this be...only thing is...What is the Sox going to have to give up to get him here???

Sad to see you think that....Even if the sox do not beat the yanks in the ALCS...the yanks will lose to the NL team in the WS...

HairToStay 08-19-2004 04:20 PM

He defected before, let someone else have him. He's getting old :)

ChrisExtreme 08-19-2004 04:39 PM

Where did this info. come from?

Why would the Astros put Clemens on waivers? He doesn't make that much money and he puts fans in the seats for them. Plus, Clemens hates the Red Sox and has said he wouldn't go back there. If the Astros were going to unload him they should have done it before the July 31st trade deadline this way they could have gotten something back in return for him. I'm sure the Yankees would have scooped him up!

Thats OK as long as the Sox are channel surfing while we are playing. Nothing sadder than an organization reaching for a pernnant than re aquiring a piece of thier losing history. They got BIG BAD Kurt SChilling and they STILL suck. Sox are laughing stocks of sports

You NEVER cease to fire me up AMA...

The Significance of the rocket coming back here to boston...

1. He is Reminicent of the reason theres a "curse" on the Bosox...BabeRuth was traded to the yankees....Clemens played for the sox, then played for the yankees two seasons later.

2. It will put 3 Killer pitchers on one starting rotation. Unheard of...Bring on septenber/october...

3. He can be one of the only pitchers to finish his career on the team he started with.

4. He gets the chance to accomplish the only thing he HAS NOT done in his career. Win a World Series as a RedSox Player.

5. He can be part of the changing of history. The First RedSox World Championship scince 1918. The most coveted and infamous "event" in Sports across the board...

Last year was probably the closest to that ever happening...

What a goddamn fucking moron.

Yeah, the Stros put him on waivers yet noone in the free world knows about it except this guy?

Oh yeah, so he goes on Waivers and the Sox got him even though he would have to clear about 20 teams before he got to the Sox. I'm sure all those teams would pass the surefire HOF'er who is playing for peanuts this year.

Then the Astros pulled him from the waiver wire......jesus christ, do you really think we are this stupid? You can't fucking pull someone from waivers once you put him on waivers.

Everyone come in here and rejoice. This is the biggest made up piece of shit thread in the history of the internet.

I give you 0 stars. May God have mercy on your soul.

Roger would not have played for the Yanks again....
Before the trade deadline the astros were in contention this is the reason they did not trade roger.

And the astros put roger on waivers for a reason...they diddnt trade him before because andy pettite was still healthy. Pettite is out for the season with an elbow injury. The astros are out of contention...So they figure they will try to get something for roger scince they cant do much anymore with him for the last six weeks...why not get a prospect or two...

Did you get all that...

Clicky_Bucks 08-19-2004 07:26 PM

Will you just fucking stop it, you fucking troll? Honestly, just fucking stop it. Your life must be pretty sad if you have to make up such ridiculous lies.

Everyone, think about the last time a high level player was put on waivers. I'm so sure every baseball executive for all teams would just keep their mouths closed and the word wouldn't get out.

Oh yeah, you said they put him on waivers so they could get something for him? At least make your lies reasonable. Putting someone on waivers is basically giving him away for nothing.

DO you know how waivers work???

TEAMS CAN PULL PLAYERS OFF OF WAIVERS...go to ESPN.com and read...

The stros "BAITED" teams...

The sox are the only one that bit...HES GOT 6 WEEKS LEFT ON HIS CONTRACT!

A brief description of waivers....

A team puts a guy on the waiver wire and "SHOPS" him around until a Team "CLAIMS" him. The Sox CLAIMED THE ROCKET. Now just because the Sox CLAIMED him doesnt mean they get him...the stros have the option to PULL HIM OFF WAIVERS, BUT ONLY ONCE. Scince the sox claimed the rocket boston is the only team that the rocket can now be traded to.

Take your foot out of your mouth now you fucktard and learn something...

PLAYERS CAN BE PULLED OFF WAIVERS AFTER BEING PUT ON, BUT ONLY ONCE.
THE NEXT TIME THEY ARE GONE!

I agree with this. Without a link nor it being on ANY major website, I simply don't believe a word of it.

If I'm wrong, I'll gladly come back and apologize, but I don't see that happening.

This is NOT true. You can place someone on waivers and pull him off waivers if another team claims him.

The red soxs will have some power but they will lose power as well.

Yeah, 100 percent wrong, you fucking lieing troll.

Ok, so how has this been kept a secret? I won't even go any further to prove you wrong than this one fact. Waivers are a matter of public record.

You honestly think the Astros could put him on waivers, file the paperwork, inform every MLB team, without it getting leaked to one media source?

Of course you don't. You are just a loser who is fishing.

DUMB ASS RED SOX FANS --

remember, the Rocket was supposed to RETIRE - hes only playing for the Astros cause they are close to his home and he sought his family's approval to play. You guys suck ass, you are 8 games back, you may not even get the wildcard which would be fucking the best thing to happen to baseball. :ak47:

CLEMENS WINDOW CLOSED

Bob Lobel reports on UPN-38 that the window for the Red Sox obtaining Roger Clemens is now shut.

Sox had 48 hours to seal the deal.

Sox Would Not Give Up Youk

Roger Clemens: "It's not a big deal. It's not going to happen anyway. They just did it to block me from going to the Yankees."
