Yeah, then come back home drunk at 3am, and own his dad on GFY.

Poor baby, I don't have kids but I remember when my brother and sister started kindergarten my mother and I cried so much. They just waved their little hands and we were left to cry...:(

ytcracker 08-19-2004 10:02 AM

NickPapageorgio 08-19-2004 10:02 AM

Shit...you think you're blubberin now, just wait till he brings home that first Valentine card he made with his hand prints on it. You will lose it for sure. :) Congrats bro. Kids are fun.

yep only 12 years to go

Trixxxia 08-19-2004 10:05 AM

Mine started daycare last year - to see her all grown up and biting her thumb as she walked down the stairs not knowing her surroundings & nervous was enough to kill me for the day. For her, the first day was great but the entire month after that was crying 7 hours non-stop. She loves the place now!

Edit: Be strong as I'm sure it will be good for him & he'll be happy!

And now begins the journey to the end of innocents.

loverboy 08-19-2004 10:09 AM

this is a moment that you will treasure for life. your parenting skills will now move a notch higher :)

iFliPcEss 08-19-2004 10:19 AM

oh geez it reminds me of a local commercial over here... it was about a dad & his son, the dad is talking to his son, like... "Son please don't grow old yet, just dont, i still wanna hang out with you, we still gotta lots of things to do" I found that commercial cute a father & son tandem

Sharky 08-19-2004 10:24 AM

My daughter started Pre-k yesterday.
she didn't want to come home at the end of the day, today as well. It makes you sad when you realize your child has all these exciting live experiences away from you!

jaYMan 08-19-2004 10:27 AM

I can't wait to go pick the lil guy up...

I feel like sneaking to the school and peeking in his window lol.

Must be scary huh? My sister has kids and they seem to grow up so fast. None for me.. yet.

Jdoughs 08-19-2004 10:32 AM

LOL my youngest starts in a week. DIDnt bother me to see the boys go but i have been home with my daughter since she was born, as much as im looking forward to the extra time to work, its gonna be weird without her here driving me nutz during the day

Kassidy 08-19-2004 10:35 AM

Awwww, that's so cute! I cried when mine went too....and now I can't wait for the first day of school, lol. 2 1/2 more weeks here :(

Whatever you do - don't go checking up on him - if he's not comfortable, he'll be crying all afternoon & looking for you everyday. My daughter would actually hear the jeep & run to get her stuff ready to go!

mine starts pre-school on the 7th of next month...

I know it'll be a relief to have 'project time' around the house during the day, but DAMM I know I'll miss that lil heathen too...

Halcyon 08-19-2004 12:21 PM

Just think...in just 2 years they'll be able to teach you to read!! ;)

brizzad 08-19-2004 12:23 PM

SykkBoy 08-19-2004 12:37 PM

I have a week and a half before my brats go back to school and I can't wait ;-)))

I wonder if I can sneak my youngest in at 4? ;-)

The first day of school is always tough though. My wife and I are worse than the kids.

I usually have to stay a majority of the first day for my son though because of his SM and teaching his teacher to sign. He has a couple friends in his class this year though, so I might not have to stick around as long
