24/7 server monitoring service, any suggestions..?
 
have some *BSD servers that i'd like monitored by an external service, one that emails me if there is a problem... anyone make use of such services, and any suggestions for good ones..?

It's what most of the pay monitor services use in the first place. Takes a bit to get configured but is very configurable and can monitor just about anything on a machine.

Might want to have a look as well at http://www.alertra.com I know many people using them with good results. We use Nagios ourselves and it's a great tool, but if you're looking for external monitoring as well, you might want to have a look.

we do security services. audits make sure your servers are secure. anything you need se sig.\

shortest intervall is a 2 minute monitor
sends email when server is down, and another email when it is up again.

Costs only a few $ per month
