    A real Pacific Northwest beach

    Today I drove down to Point Roberts, WA to visit the post office and get some Cherry Coke (which is not available in Canada). Well, I drove a little farther than usual and visited the beach down there. It's a tiny little vacation/fishing hamlet that really should be a part of Canada, but due to a cartographer who loved straight lines, it's part of the States.

    Enjoy

    Oh, and the dog is Sleazy's dog, Skufty from when I visited Gimli.

              nice pics. I enjoy the scenery of the olympic coastal area alot..rialto beach is loaded with tidal pools full of wildly colored sea urchins and star fish...bright green, orange, purple and red.

              I will have to find the article that tells how the starfish and urchins get their color.

                          Thanks guys! I'm kinda sad they are so blown out. The sun made it such a sparkly day that the camera didn't pick up the mountains or the boats at all.

                          C_unt, I love that kind of stuff too! That's why I was so suprised to see the starfish! It was in the middle of an open beach, with no tidal pools at all, at almost high tide.

                              Nice pics! I had just stopped feeling bad that I was so tired and sick at the end of our honeymoon that we didn't get down that way. Now I wish we could go back right away.

                              I thought I loved the beach on the central and northern California coast. I didn't know what I was missing until I moved up here and really started exploring the Washington and BC coast. Wow!
