How much bandwidth on galleries?
 

How much bandwidth would be spent on 100,000 daily hits to a gallery of 500Kb size total? On average I mean.

50 GB a day.

He just multiplied the 2 numbers. Not every gallery visitor is going to check out every image. What would be a more realistic value, anyone?

100,000 visitors viewing 500Kb web.

(100,000 users * 500,000 bytes)/ 1,000,000,000 bytes to get GB = 50 GB used if all 100k users downloaded all 500K of the site.

Of the few galleries that I have put together so far, when a person clicks on the site, they hit on average over 85% of it http://bbs.gofuckyourself.com/board/smile.gif Anyone else that has more experience have a number of actual % of site visited when a person click on it ??

That would mean getting 3 signups from 100K uniques would be just breaking even. That can't be right, unless my galleries are too big, or signups too low.

I think I've noticed that the average is about 1 signup per 10k per gallery.

Of the 10k, 3%-5% will go to your sponsor.
And the average signup seems to be 1:300 - 1:500

Of course, some sponsors do better, and some do worse.

3-5% click thrus and 1:300-500 signups?? That would be an extremely optimistic average for me. I'm very happy with 1:1000 ratios these days.

When I say 85% I'm talking about the % of my site that they look at, so if I have 16 pics, they will on average look at 13 of them. So then if my site was 500K in size, and I got 100K people a day. My bandwidth bill would be 42.5 GB of traffic (85% of the 50GB).

I think 50% of visitors would simply close the gallery after it opens. The 50% who like what they see would go through 85% of pictures. This is just a guess, but I think this would be closer to fact.

No. I know exactly how many steps are taken by my average viewer. There are 17 total steps, the index page & 16 pics.

From wusage stats:

15.01 / 17 steps = 88% of the possible steps are viewed. So my traffic should be close to 88%!

100,000 uniques on a 500k total gallery? Easy: Average surfer hit 33% of the whole gallery... 500k * 33% = 165k (should always be less than 200k IMO)

100,000 X 165k = 16-17gigs

Always depends on the quality of the pictures... if they are good looking, the surfer will click much more.

RedShoe is using a reccuring sponsor, I'm sure about that. Reccuring vs PayPerSignup is TWO different WORLD.

1:10-15k on reccuring
1:30-40k on pay per signup

yeah it's recurring. Has anyone been to wolfshades site, and read his "learn, what took me a year to learn..." tutorial. I would never go back to pay per sign up again.

Redshoe, my conversions are always bad by the end of the month. They start off good (right now 1:40 with Maxcash) then dwindle. My prsent sponsors are maxcash, clubseventeen, AP.

I dont udnerstand why recurring gets a better ratio? Dont some programs offer both recurring and per signups on the same program? So the ratio should be the same, unless you mean they shave on per signups?

My stats are based on 10 month of TGP, and millions of hits. Bandwitdh: 30-33% of the whole gallery.

1 out of 3/4 trial convert to montly.

3-4x35$ = 105-140$... so in theory, the surfer would have to stay at least 4-5 months to cover the cost and make some $$ to the sponsor... when the average retention is 1-2 months these days.

Here comes the shaving... end of story.

I don't know that they all shave, but I bet they all follow up old customers with a better deal. I've signed up for some of the partnership programs that I'm going to work with, just to see how well the site is inside, And everytime I quit I get a nice little email 3 to 5 days afterwords asking me to rejoin at a deep discount say 30% or 50% basically what they are paying us. So the customer may stay only 1 month at $24.95, but he might stay 4 or 5 months at $12.00.

Anyway, my tip is: go for reccuring with SE/AVS traffic and PPS for LL/TGP.

Yeah, reccuring sponsors work that way... but on the other end, I joined all the pay per signup sites in the world (oh almost!) and they don't work that way. Some are just trying to fuck the surfer around or offer access for all their sites for free. (or a small fee like 20$).

Sometimes, I join a site, and cancel my trial 10 mins later because it's so bad... ARS makes money because they rebill 48hrs after the trial, not 3 days. (You must read the terms to know it...) ARS sites offer a bunch of different tours.. same content. It's like SIC's new teenpussy site, the member area is teengodess..etc. Overall, reccuring sponsors offer better sites than PPS.

others make money on dialers (no credit card access), give a free trial with CE's free trial clubpix with the same credit card (so the surfer join for 2 sites with his credit card, and don't really know it.. he have to cancel both), or send every non-usa/canada surfers to their dialup (like trafficcash/cen)

All in all, ethics are at a real time low in the adult industry, huh?

Excellent observation on Redshoe! I saw I signup per every 10,000 uniques and I was like SHIT!!!! However then you said that he was using a recurring and I was like, "HEY" that's about what I get with recurring!
Yup, on per signup 1 for every about 30-40K is about right with average TGP traffic.

Like Playa said -- use series pics. And especially -- a series with a babe stripping, and only the last few show much nudity. Surfers will click 33% at most, and the ad tells them where to go for the rest of the series. Seems to be an effective ploy.

These are my stats for the last 3 days getting around 35,000 raw hits to my galleries daily (I use my own counter, dont count uniques) -

2208547 KBytes

I think this is 1.5, 2.2 and 2.2 GBs, but am I by any chance wrong and its 15, 22, and 22 GBs??? Cos that comes closer to Hardcorehosting's estimates.

I'm on 3$ per GB, but moving to 2$ per GB quickly.

Someone please confirm those are 2.2 GB and not 22 GB!!

And if anyone knows a reliable cheaper than 2$ per gig host for over 100 Gig a month lemme know!
