.. but its usually fun a few seconds before the bones break. :thumbsup

I'd use the 8 weeks to get a lot of work done, maybe start a new project, if I was in your shoes Quiet.

Feel better. :thumbsup

Jensen 08-18-2004 05:15 PM

hmm my achilles snapped 2 years ago.. took me 2 months before I could walk and 5 months of physio (6 hours a week) to be ok.. hope that makes you feel a tiny bit better .. atleast you can spend hours after hours infront of the pc without anyone telling you to get the fuck out or do the dishes etc :thumbsup

one good thing though.. morfin/painkillers didn't work on me after the operation so a bunch of cute nurses lined up to comfort me.. god I miss that :Graucho

BradM 08-18-2004 05:17 PM

hehe, the retarded thing is the break is from jumping down some stairs and landing funny on my foot while we were scrapping. x-rays looked pretty ugly. i've broken all of my fingers, a couple of toes, and my wrist all from snowboarding, nothing like this though.

C_U_Next_Tuesday 08-18-2004 05:30 PM

so sorry to hear that. I am glad you went to the doctors and had it taken care of before it got worse.

no time for depression.. maybe try to look at it as a sign that you werent supposed to go...yeah, I know..easier said then done.

Get that ankle healed...too many things to do that require two feet...especially snowboarding!!

so with Canadas social medical system, did you have to wait in a first aid tent for a day ot two, before a doc could find the time to see you?

Heck, they gave him Tylenol #3 for a broken ankle. Here in the states you get GOOD drugs for stuff like that :winkwink:

Ice 08-18-2004 06:18 PM

1998 in Vancouver a guy ran a stop sign on me and I t-boned his car on my 600 Ninja.... I was doing about 50k.

4 busted ribs...one went through my left lung..
internal bleeding..right lung filling with blood..
broken arm
brused hip
cracked my skull in 3 places
4 broken toes
2 broken fingers
broken collar bone
sprained both wrists and ankles
damaged 2 vertebra in my back
cracked my jaw....

I think thats about it

Walked out of the hospital a week later with a limp but I'm 100% again. The ambulance drivers came up to see me and said I had about 10 minutes to live when the got me to the hospital....

Someone up there was on my side....

Herb Kornfield 08-18-2004 06:22 PM

just a few broken fingers in an accident when I was about 10 years old..... other than that...all is well.

Hope you are your brother work things out. Me and my brother have just started talking after a year of not talking at all from a stupid arguement that got real heated.

Its nice to have him back now....

broken knee, surgery, 6 screws and a titanium plate inserted. 10 weeks in a wheelchair. And then three and half months on crutches. Extremely painful physical therapy to get the knee to bend again. Permanant loss of some range of motion. And a year later, still having problems with the ankle on the same leg.

Have a nice day.

yep, glad i finally went. definitely want it healed for snowboarding!! i'm on the couch, the windows are open and i can see the gondola sitting there about 40 feet away :( crazy how things can change, i've been hiking/scrambling mountains everyday all summer, now i can barely move lol. cheers Betty :)

Peaches, just found out i can pay $75 bucks per ticket and change the dates. only thing is i have no idea when to change them too. i guess i could just push them to exactly a year later, or something. or maybe the beginning of next summer. who knows.

amazing - the quickest service i've ever experienced. i done hospitals in Edmonton, Banff and Montreal, and of course it's always been a 3-4 hour affair. here in Whistler i get to the hospital (the parking lot is packed), and in 5 minutes i'm talking to a doctor. absolutely stunning service.

yeah i've been thinking about that. i wonder if i'll be able to deal with the gas and brake with a boot on (apparently i'll be able to get a sort of ski boot type of cast - more money but much smaller, lighter, etc)... probably not. i have a Porsche trickle charger i'll have to break out to keep the battery topped up...

Fletch XXX 08-18-2004 07:16 PM

quiet, is it right or left leg? i didnt catch.

if possible maybe you should rent a motocycle heheh

shifting can be done with the good foot.

Cool :) And I'm ASSuming you can pay $75 to change it again? If so, then change the tickets now as far off as they'll allow (usually 364 days) then when you get a set date, you can put them back on the date you need them.

Things are looking better already. Now you just need to get your brother to answer your calls, get you some good pain killers, up your Netflix account, get the name of all the food delivery places and you're set. :thumbsup

Tell me about it. I had major surgery in Canada on numerous occasions, and all I got was some shitty codeine. They sliced away a major facial bone (I won't tell which) and screwed it back at a different angle, and yet all I got was codeine! They extracted my wisdom teeth... codeine! I had a broken nose: codeine!
