go to your local wine store and hit the red wine section

then look on the end of the aisles and find the printouts they do from the wine magazines....you can find insanely good wines for $10-20 sometimes.....

and as always with wine, cheaper is better most of the time, unless you going for some crazy vintage

Yellow tail makes some fantastic reds as well does Bonterra for a nice organic wine.

Coppola also have some very fine wines and all are reasonably priced and easily available.

MacMurray Ranch Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir s/b around $18.00. In fact, you are fairly safe just looking for "Sonoma Valley" (California) for nice reds in the $15-$25 range.

The US is fairly poor on imported wines, but keep an eye out for cabernet sauvignon wines from the Maipo Valley in Chile.

Me and my girlfriend usually get a bottle with dinner most times, we've had some pretty good wines. I'd have to say and she'd agree that one stands out. Faith Shiraz, i'd never heard of it before but its good, i believe it was a 2001

laura 08-18-2004 06:45 PM

Dynamite Merlot
