ccBill paysite owners, what's with the new secret ccBill robot spidering your sites ?
 
I heard "through the grapevine" that there's a new robot in beta that adds and deletes user passwords at will and spiders your members areas looking at compliance.

One problem seems to be, if a robot is looking at "compliance" issues, then why is it downloading "x" meg of content bandwidth ?

ccBill is getting on real thin ice with me anyhow. Affiliate sales (MINE) showing up but not in our admin? We're making screenshots of transcations now, because I'm getting real tired of "there's no bugs in our system".

Your ccbill password file will be written to by a ccbill ip addy and if you check you ccbill file or error log, you will see all the ip's are from Cave Creek. Really lousy way of treating you clients I'd say. If they put me back on the beta bullshit apu robot test, I'll just take down their buttons and promote my site using any of the 3 other processors I already have up and running.

Perhaps there were keywords on your site that engaged a second level of probing by the spider?

Ie... grab the text/html... review it for bad keywords, if any (or enough) are found, grab a sample of the image/video content for an archive (in case the site changes or something?)

Just my guess.



Either way, it's a very reasonable and proactive of CCbill to do at this stage of the game I think :thumbsup

I really dont want to lose another processor due to fines levied against them because other webmasters cant resist breaking the rules

as i had mentioned in the thread that you had had referenced, we are about to release a new Policy Review System soon, which has some functionality that the current system does not. Expect to hear more about this very soon...

Spidering for disallowed keywords in a members area? wtf?!

Could somebody tell me what happened in member areas and why normal reviews are impossible?I go for quality control so less chargebacks happen and the surfers stay happy but whats that bad keyword stuff?Upsells?Hidden CP sites?

So that's the hacker adding unpaid passwords and spidering my client's site.
I'll send my invoice for the 4 hours of investigative work to CCBill.
