What's the best online stock brokerage these days?
What's the best online stock brokerage these days? I used to use E-Trade* a lot back in the late 90s. Who's the market leader and who has the best online tools today in 2004? I think I'm getting back in the market.

Rick Ameritrade is very good especially if you will be doing day trading type of investing (lots of trades per day)
In Canada, there all pretty much the same and charging pretty much the same fees (more or less $5 difference from one another) IMO. Wasn't E-trade purchased by TD a while ago?
I use Ameritrade
I'm cheap and use http://www.firstrade.com
Depends on what you want to do (day trading/swing trading/long term trading).Ever tried to trade in the Forex market?
I just want to make a couple of long term buys a month.
I use http://www.sharebuilder.com :thumbsup
For long term trades ameritrade should be ok for you.
If you're looking for discount brokers you can also check out
http://www.etrade.com/ http://www.fidelity.com/ http://www.schwab.com/ These are the best atm. If you got big money and want an investment company to do the job without having a clue about stocks yourself go to Merrill Lynch, Wells Fargo or Morgan Stanley. |

are u concerned about low fees, timely order execution, research or what?
