One of the oldest casket makers in the country went out of business here recently.

Funeral homes are upset about this move by Costco because it cuts into their business. They've already released a comment to the press that if casket sales drop, they'll need to increase prices of services.

Caskets can be really expensive, thats for sure. Hopefully nobody here will need to find out any time soon..

The thing that sucks is, even though you don't have to order a casket through the funeral home, you don't have enough time to have one special ordered, unless you buy it yourself ahead of time.

The fuckers at the mortuary where we held services for my Grandmother purposely gave everyone wrong directions to the cemetary that was right up the road, because we would not pay them extra for a funeral procession.

I held my tongue at the graveside services, but it was a total mess. There were old people lost all over the place, and luckily they had cell phones so we could give them correct directions.

Those mortuary fuckers are pure evil.

Costco might not, many others do. Oh and a hell of a lot cheaper than a funeral home.

Guessing they also jacked the buyers on every little item and "upgrade".

Want to hear the real kicker? It was supposed to be a closed casket funeral and they fucked it up and had it open. After it was already open and people starting arriving the family figured just leave it open since they already saw her.

It didn't bother me, but I have family members claiming they are traumatized now. You think they would have at least gotten that part of the services right, closed casket that is.
