If you could predict the exact date and minute of your death, would you want to know?

No bullshit about, "yeah, I'd like to know and I'd just stay at home and avoid death"....

none of that crap.

If you could know exactly when you'd die, and you couldn't do ANYTHING about it, would you want to find out?

WarChild 08-16-2004 02:37 PM

Absolutely I would.

Then I could suicide bomb a Mosque 1 minute before.

Triple 6 08-16-2004 02:37 PM

yea, why not. Then I can prepare..

Nembrionic 08-16-2004 02:45 PM

"If you could predict the exact date and minute of your death, would you want to know?"

If you could, you already would have. How else would you know you COULD do it to begin with? It wouldn't be a case of wanting or not wanting to know, because the answer is intrinsic to the question.

The question you're asking is the wrong question :)

Is this answer annoying enough for you? :Graucho

polish_aristocrat 08-16-2004 02:46 PM

That would be the most stupid thing to know.
I couldnt live with it

RuthXtremePay 08-16-2004 02:46 PM

There's something to be said for not knowing when you're going to go.. but the idea I guess is that those who don't want to know should be maximizing their lives and filling every moment with something...

Personally I'd like to know in some respects, and in others I'd rather remain completely blank on the subject so that I didn't spend the next 'who knows how many years' trying to figure out how I could avoid that happening on that date.. even knowing I couldnt' change it, I'd want to at least see if there was anything I could do to figure it out.. but I guess that has to do with my personality lol

What a question to ask... LOL

AGF 08-16-2004 02:49 PM

no way
I will go and thing about it all the time

EviLGuY 08-16-2004 02:51 PM

Sure.. why not? Would let me save on insurance premiums.. and hell if you knew for a fact you were going to die in 20 years and not a minute before.. imagine all the crazy shit you could do?

Firehorse 08-17-2004 01:27 AM

I would not want to know. It would effect the way I live too much!

Jakke PNG 08-17-2004 01:32 AM

Nope. I wouldn't want to. What if 'it' told you that you were going to die in a carcrash in 3 months. If he hadn't told you, you wouldn't worry for the last 3 months of your life :)

Manowar 08-17-2004 01:32 AM

Yes, I would - it would be nice to know.

Linguist 08-17-2004 01:34 AM

Of course I would want to know

If they told me that I'd live 30-40 more years, i'd go and play russian roulette for money :Graucho

Face (o_0) 08-17-2004 02:29 AM

id want to know for sure

i wonder if you found out you were gona die in an accident if you could avoid it (i doubt it :2 cents: )

anyways... so why the question? you invented something that can tell us? :1orglaugh :glugglug

AVM 08-17-2004 02:34 AM

No. It would permanently reap havoc on my life, disallowing me to even live my life. As such, emotionally I would not die on the exact date of my death. But rather die the exact minute, I hear/was told of the time of my death. :stoned

Back to the pipe.

Napolean 08-17-2004 02:45 AM

that would suck actually

"next week, tuesday at 6:30pm.. your going to choke on a bagel, and oh yeah, you'll be out of cream cheese and mustard.. and the bagel will be stale"

:(

i just might have jinxed myself

Same here, I worry way too much :(

Sarah_Jayne 08-17-2004 04:09 AM

no, I would get too fixated on it

Goatse 08-17-2004 05:09 PM

Sure I'd want to know. I'd spend a few weeks living it up, I'd get even with a few assholes, and I would get a chance to act as if nothing mattered in the world for once. Sounds like a good deal to me.

Stamen 08-17-2004 07:50 PM

I would definitely want to know, I would be able to live every moment of my life to the fullest since I'd already know how I was going to go.

AndrewKanuck 08-17-2004 08:08 PM

Fuck that shit

shermo 08-17-2004 08:10 PM

No way. I like surprises in life. It allows me to live every minute as if it were my last. If I knew the time, I'd definitly feel as if there's a deadline to do things, and I'd enjoy life a LOT less. :(

ModelPerfect 08-17-2004 08:26 PM

I'd love to know when I was going to die and in what condition I was in just before. Then I could pretty much do anything at all I wanted up until that point without worrying about getting killed, maimed or contracting some horrible disease. Think about how much fun you could have being invincible for that time! :winkwink:

Living For Today 08-17-2004 08:27 PM

Nope. You go when you go. You shouldnt plan for these things.

Peaches 08-17-2004 08:29 PM

I'd want to know. I'd want to be able to get all my affairs in order, contact friends, family and loved ones one last time, make sure I said "I love you" to everyone, make sure my pets and house would be taken care of when I was gone, do everything I wanted to do before I died, not worry about taking care of myself healthwise towards the end, get rid of all my business stuff, lol, spend all my money :winkwink: etc. :thumbsup

quiet 08-17-2004 08:31 PM

definitely. then i could jump off of buildings and crash cars with no worry of ever dying....

But then think about it.. would you be dying because you were going to die anyway at that time, or because someone told you you were, so you made it happen?

Paraskass 08-17-2004 08:46 PM

Woah... this thread is still alive.
:Graucho

Remember!

You would not know HOW you would die, you would just know WHEN you would die.

No stopping it.
It could be a heart attack, a car crash, a brick from a roof.

No matter what you would do, you'd die at the exact moment the "device" told you.

:Graucho
