i tried you guys once and you wanted to charge me $150 to install FTP.

i cancelled the order, ended up paying for a server i never used.

nice prices though, just not down with paying some knucklehead $150 to let me FTP

no clue man, i was simply paying for it, my partner had set it up.

trying to grab another server away from currrent for SE work. i said cancel it, no way im gonna pay that for some guy to install FTP, when any idiot can get a virtual account and get it for free.

ServerMatrix's philosophy is they sell dedicated *nix servers so the client should be comfortable running them.

I've got two boxes with them and I love them. The prices rock and their bw is top notch (with the exeption of their matrixextreme servers). But with that said I couldn't imagine recommending them to someone who doesn't have any *nix admin experience. They're very bare-bone servers. Nothing is configured on them.

You have to add WHM and cpanel. As soon as you add an account in cpanel, ftp is install automaticaly.

Thank you all for the overwhelming response. We launched this line of servers because of a growing need for an unmetered solution especially for those in the adult entertainment industries or anyone doing audio/ video streaming for that matter.

i was going to ask the exact same question, i've got 2 ensim servers and need another, but i don't want a steep learning curve. i'm ok with ensim and basic redhat stuff will i be ok with cpanel do you think?

cpanel is much much better then ensim, I had a server at ev1 with it and hated it.

control panels should be free.

i urge you all to take a look at webmin, its free, open source, and easy to install!
