I know where to find the adult ones but i wonder if there are sites like that for mainstream names?

yeah, it's unbelievable. but there's a couple of gems on those lists.. i just sold a domain i got from there for $1200 after 2 months.

i didn't even use a drop service.

especially when you buy a domain, you basically get the bad rep that comes with it.

people sell googlebanned urls all day and people get suckered in.

they get excited, develop site a bit and realize, why they arent in google.

Hey Taboo, im gonna bid on a name. Lets say i will bid up to 500 with enom but the last bid didnt go higher than 150...what then? will i get it for 150 or will i end up paying 500?

darkjedi is right, i bought 30 domains with PR 3 and they all went PR 0.

also theres tons that drop that are blacklisted from SERPS and its hard to get them lifted for months.

depends. they offer proxy once the 3-day auction has started. but if you're bidding $500 before the drop, then the auction starting price is $500 if others bid in as low as $10. If no one else bid in (slim chance) then you got it for $500 when you could have had it for $10. :)

but if its in high demand like refurbished.com was, just bid in $10 at enom and $60 at pool, snap names, etc. wait and see who gets it and then watch the closing like a hawk. btw, refurbished.com went for $32k the other day. here's some other sales:

example: i wanted CollegeLive.com (not the best domain, but I'm happy with it) and placed a backorder everywhere, when i watched it close at namewinner BEFORE the drop (they auction it off before it drops) at 200+, I quickly raised my back order to $60 at enom, pool, snapnames, etc. luckily enom caught it and after a 3day auction with 5+ ppl, it was mine for around $100.

another example: I wanted MoreGore.com (just for fun), so i bid $30 at NW, $15 at Godaddy and $10 at enom. No one else wanted it, for obvious reasons, but I got it from enom for $10+$7fee.

The way I understand it, its pointless to bid over $10, if other people bid on it then you can consider at that point how high you want to go in the auction. If nobody bids on it then you have it for $10 plus the registration.

Yes, just like its pointless to bid for an ebay item which will end in a week. Its better to wait for the last minute. Im such a fool. I was just messing around a bit, my first time at enom. Lets just hope this domain is worth it. If i see no bids all day higher than 500 bucks i know something is wrong hahah.

include the info. perhaps if you overpaid, you ask enom very nicely to lower your bid if you're the only one, but you gotta tell them you'll leave the 500 in your account for other purchases. i don't recommend it but some ppl default when they make an overbid, then the name moves into public auction mode, but starts at the bid pirce before of $500. lol.

Ah its alright, i already mailed them explaining the situation. I dont mind paying the 500 bucks or more, if i know for sure its worth it. If i noticed many other people bidding on the name then it know its all good. I just hope they will reduce my starting bid as i asked in the email. Thanks for your help.

i don't want you to share the domain name. I only thought that it dropped today and since drop was over, you could tell me. but definitely keep it to yourself. but make sure you place backorders at pool.com ($60 buyin) and namewinner.com ($30 min).

right now you can see if other ppl are bidding on it at namewinner.com, plus if enom forces you to keep the $500 bid, then make sure to lowball yourself at namewinner the day of the drop and bid for $100-$200 to save yourself money.

keep in mind:
pool closes window at 2pm day of drop, NW/ENOM at 1 pm.
