My friend and his dad are lost in the woods :(

I got a call at midnight last night from my friends wife. I guess they went fishing deep on a hiking trial yesterday. They took their bikes but had to start carrying them when the trail got difficult.

We both called the police and they sent out a rescue team last night. The debuty said to stay here, we have done all that we can.

All my friend and his dad had was the clothes they were wearing and a couple ponchos. The good thing that may help them is they had a pure-bread black lap with them. But I bet it got down to 50 degrees last night.

I just hope I hear something soon. I hate not being able to do anything. :(

Its not like them to get lost. They go deep fishing at least 2 times a month.

u know they are both at a cat house and got wasted last night and are sleeping it off.

btw if you are stupid enough to wonder into the woods without proper gear, you deserve everything you get. a dad taking his kid in the woods? yea really reponsible.

so your saying that anytime you go in the woods you should be carrying a sleeping bag, and extra clothes? Give me a fucking break. Sure they should have brought a flash light, matches and a blanket. But when I go hiking and see other people I see people carrying the correct equipment maybe 10% of the time. Truth is, no one ever counts on getting lost.

If you were in the same place I think you would understand. So dont be a fucking prick by thinking you are funny.

And what do you mean by kid? they are 28 and 50.

i see, so riding your bike as far as you can, then having to carry it cause the terrain is to rough isnt the 1st indication they are a bit out of thier league? btw, how the fuck do you know where they went if they are still lost?

28 and 50? sounds like 2 and 21. and yes anytime you go on any type of extended trip into the woods, its common sense to take some sort of survival gear. i guess you hill billies dont watch the news ever eh?

I really sorry. I should have taken you as part of that 10%. You are a very smart person for bringing all the right equipment. But you know. All those things and you still could get lost. You might want to bring a radio as well.

At least my friend brought a cell phone (which will get service in some places). But he did bring a 4 way radio. I still am not sure why he didnt bring matches and a light.

ok... i can't help it anymore.

i think its tragic that this happened...

I think you are getting ahead of yourself in your assumption that they are lost in the woods. Most likely, one of them is hurt or there is a better explanation. I certainly hope so.

If a 50 and 21 year old are so stupid they are lost in the woods, then they deserve to be left there. I mean holy shit... its not like we are talking about two 11 year old kids. What kind of fucking retard gets lost in the woods? If you are not sure where you are, not sure where you are headed and not sure how to get your bearings or find your way back... then you will only make the world a better place to be if you just keep on going.

... I was born and raised in Alaska and spent most of my childhood hiking and camping far away from civilization. i think back and remember the shit i did when i was 10... it's tough to imagine that a grown adult would die if he had tried to follow me.

feelin sorry for them. good luck to them

FreakinWebmaster 08-15-2004 11:04 AM

My friend just called me!! he made it home okay. he sounded really tired and freaked out. They made a tent with trees and shrubs. They did have a little bit of food like granola bars. They were able to find the trail again early this morning. He said they made a mental list of things they will not forget for next time. They never saw the rescue group.

I am leaving to see him now. I am glad they made it out ok.
