Looking for quality non-US hosts
 

I don't really plan on being compliant with all the new 2257 stuff, so I'm looking for some good non-US hosts. Got any to share?

Not really. But I should mention that if you really want a quality non-US host, you can expect to pay quality non-US prices.

Only if there is no other choice... I'm not planning to move there right now, just use it as a backup so that if anything happens I can move my sites immediately.

So, if nothing goes wrong, I'll only be paying for servers, not bw. And if something does go wrong... well, I won't have much choice then.

Check out Exmasters. Their servers, I believe, located in Czech republic. Never had any problems with them...

No English version of the site, and the site doesn't seem to be completely finished yet. I tend to stay away from new companies when it comes to the basics of my business... too much of a risk :2 cents:

Contrary to some comments about US hosting being the most competitive - this is no longer the case. There are some excellent hosts wired thru Docklands/London at prices that match US hosts no problem.

There are also a good number of hosts based on Amsterdam "wire" - Both London and Amsterdam are (if you dump the stupid uncompetitive hosting companies) much the same as the US pricing and sometimes better.

I'll track this post and update with some detail later! :thumbsup

PS.. On 2257.. you are right. This is a US law which has fuck all to do with the rest of the world, tho the "principles" of 2257 may have been good, it's the usual shit and now blown to hell. Adult webmaster life outside the US is much "nicer" :-)
