Internext is shrinking

Is it me or is Internext shrinking?

This year it is 25% smaller then last year. Most people do not exhibit anymore, WTF?

Any thoughts on this?

And who has the nicest booth??? Because I have to admit there are not many to choose from.

What does it mean when companies no longer exhibit, does it mean they don't want to spend the $? or does it mean they don't really give a fuck about their webmasters/customers? or what?

It's cheaper to hire a few big titty bimbos to wear cute shirts with the company logo on them...

Having a known personality or a cute bimbo wearing your shit probably brings the same or better return than having a booth.

There may be less exhibitors this year but there are far more attendees from what I can see.

We are staying nect door in the Holiday Inn and it's packed as is the Westin. Last year there was space in the Westin and non industry people here.

So if you are not here you missed out. :(

Never been to one. But what I've noticed each convention pre-coverage since I've been in this business has focussed less and less on industry speakers and more and more on alcohol and naked girls.
Seems backwards.
For instance, I dont even know if anyone at this convention is even speaking. I'd imagine there will be tons of talk on 2257, or is there? Beats me. But I know theres been pics of booze stacked 10 feet high in preperation of partying.

Hey fiddy, you brought some major buzz and chaos to the Vegas show back in January. :winkwink:

Forget the drinks, what about all the blow that gets laid out on the tables at the parties in the rooms?

The only time I ever do that shit is at webmaster conventions.

some attendees said the attendance seems much lower than last year. others said the numbers are up?

there were still rooms left at the westin this year too. the hurricane/ bad weather have any effect people canceling their trips?

any offical head count on # of people who showed up?

polish_aristocrat 08-15-2004 12:11 PM

Hiring sexy looking sales reps. is the new trend.

I'd assume its the weather, hurricanes aren't usually taken lightly.

I think this year is about the same size as last year and this year about 30% of the people cancelled cause of the hurricane.

That might be the case

tony286 08-15-2004 12:44 PM

if there are less booths on the show floor , whats the motivation to buy a ticket?

Did ya? I didn't see refected on the floor, maybe in january :glugglug

shermo 08-15-2004 01:38 PM

It seemed a little smaller, but the people who showed up are all top notch for the most part. Overall, a lot of biz was conducted, there was a rountable about the 2257's and Juicy has 2 gigs of photos that he's got to photoshop when he gets home. :Graucho

The hurricane caused a lot of people to back out but it was still very busy here.

Lots of people, but not everyone was on the show floor all day either.
