inbound links and google
does inbound links from other engines have effect on rankings in google, i.e dmoz, yahoo ect, or is just based on google inbound and outbound?

dmoz, yes. Typically you can get a PR2 or PR3 from typical pages just listed on dmoz. (depends on the PR of the dmoz page linking to you though)

it seems you can get alot of inbound links from MSN and altavista would this have any effect if these sites were not listed in google? or just help rankings on MSN and altavista.
im trying to figure out how these guys can write PR prediction scripts |

WHen it comes to DMOZ & yahoo dir you do not want it for the PR in most of the cases
