Different tours???

I have thought that compaines do research on the tour that converts the best and then move it to the number one spot. Nope.
So do you guys test each tour? Look at the sponsor stats as to the best converting? Just pick one you like?

Do any sponsors change the tour in the number spot to the hottest tour?

I've always liked to design my own tours for sponsors that allow it. Mine always convert better.

In fact, if any sponsors want me to design tours for them for a small recurring percentage, contact me. :winkwink:

Well i just use theirs. Wanted opinions on picking the best ones.

When I use sponsor tours, I almost always go with the ones that are least heavy on graphics. Almost every time, the simple designs will convert over the flashier tours. Look for tours that concentrate on showcasing the CONTENT, rather than a tour that's just meant to be a "showpiece". I've found that the flashy sites usually do more to impress webmasters that surfers. :winkwink:

I don't think sponsors should change the tour numbers like you suggested. Reason being, different traffic converts differently with different tours. A tour may convert fantastic for overall traffic, but for my traffic it may not, another tour would be better. If the sponsor automatically changed the tours, my traffic would be less productive.

Ok I use your tours so we are talking apples to apples. What do you suggest? I test each tour? You guys emailed the best converting tour when it was ready.

I don't work for Skin Traffic anymore so you'll have to talk to Jason. But what do you mean you got an email listing the best converting tour? Each site only has one tour unless you have a special arrangement setup. I was just checking out your account yesterday and you seemed to have traffic going to the standard tours.

Personally, I like setting up my own tours so I can play around with them, change girls, add extra elements, take away elements, etc. Example: my Stroke Jobs tour is a little bit different than the main tour. I convert Stroke Jobs pretty well, don't know if that's because of my traffic source or my different tour.

When I can't setup custom tours, I like going with the simple tours. They work well for me. Like tootie mentioned, I really think the graphics and fancy stuff are more too impress webmasters than help conversions. It's really pretty stupid, I wish more webmasters would realize a fancy tour does NOT equal sales. Right now I'm sending traffic to an all text tour, the conversions are fucking insane. I'm doing everything I can right now to build up more traffic. And no, I won't tell you which sponsor is letting me do this. :)
