Security Screeners caught stealing high end stuff

http://www.nypost.com/news/regionalnews/26840.htm

August 14, 2004 -- Is Chevy Chase's $10,000 Cartier wristwatch buried among the mounds of high-end loot cops seized in an airport sting early yesterday morning?
The famed funnyman hopes so. Chase told The Post yesterday the pricey timepiece was mysteriously missing from his otherwise-intact luggage during a trip to Los Angeles a few months ago. It made him suspect security screeners.

"The little tag that's right there on the bag did say Chevy Chase, so obviously it was worth taking a look at," the 60-year-old comedian said.

Yesterday, law-enforcement officials at Kennedy Airport unveiled hundreds of thousands of dollars in laptop computers, Tiffany's jewelry and Hugo Boss colognes found in searches of the homes of three security screeners.

There were scores of watches as well, including a $25,000 Vacheron Constantin, but no immediate sign of Chase's Cartier.

TSA Screeners stealing

Google above comes up with 750+ mentions, its too bad these stories don't get wider coverage than the local news.

When I travel by plane, (not as often as I once did, by choice) I pack a Pelican case and let the TSA scan the bag, you have the option to watch it being scanned and in the presence of a TSA agent securely lock your bag with a real lock.

Sure the bag isn't as sexy as my pre-9/11 bag, but its military grade and has a lock hole for a padlock, and I haven't lost a thing to those TSA thieves, many of which I wouldn't even let them walk my dog let alone protect me from threats unknown.

i always keep my valuables on my person in another bag and just leaves my clothes, etc. in my luggage.....too many assholes out there! :BangBang:

pfft there's your homeland security.... fuckers.

They can't keep security people from stealing out of luggage, and these are the companies we trust to fly us safely?

If they can't police their employees, how are they supposed to catch terrorists???

They are too busy waiting for Julia Robert's suitcase to rummage through.

Nah, those will slip through while they are looking for gold watches and diamond rings.
