The true purpose of you index page
 

When designing your index page do you try and keep it simple to get the visitor into your site, or do you simply try to send the visitor to a sponsor or trade as fast as possible by using alot of index advertising? it just simply depence on what's the purpose of your site...if you are aiming for traffic you don't want to jerk the surfer to another site but if the index of your page is for traffic trades ....then....

Then you don't want them coming into your site burning up your bandwith...

Try getting them to click on a sponsor before they ever get in...

Well i guess the index page is kinda unique for every site. The particular index page i'm talking about belongs to a site that only lists other sites/sponsors of my own...so even if they dont click a sponsor on the index....any site they click on once they enter can also benefit me. I'm just curious about what the basics are with index pages and how fellow webmasters/mistresses use them and why. http://bbs.gofuckyourself.com/board/wink.gif
