Do you cook for yourself?

Do you prepare meals for yourself?
Or do you just order some fast food every day?
Or do you always eat lunch in a restaurant?
Or does your partner / mom / maid cook for you? :Graucho

Personally i eat very unhealthy sicne i started working in this biz.
And i NEVER prepare anything for myself that would take more than 7 minutes.

Or sometimes - when i wake up at 1 pm - i don't eat lunch at all :Graucho :Graucho

EviLGuY 08-13-2004 06:48 AM

I cook for myself and my girlfriend just about every day.

psyko514 08-13-2004 06:48 AM

i'm about to go cook myself an omelette for breakfast.

pimplink 08-13-2004 06:49 AM

Used to ....

Jakke PNG 08-13-2004 06:49 AM

cooking = good times
I cook quite often...or then I don't eat 'real food' at all, just sandwiches or something.
I very rarely eat fastfood.

LadyMischief 08-13-2004 06:49 AM

I cook good, healthy meals for my clan.

Basic_man 08-13-2004 06:49 AM

Yeah, always.. I hate eating junk shit, so I cook for myself !

Exactly.. and for the same price or cheaper you can have a better meal at home.

Jakke PNG 08-13-2004 06:53 AM

Junkfood is a good remedy for hangover though.

Corleone 08-13-2004 06:53 AM

sure... making spaghettis at the moment :)

:glugglug

Goose 08-13-2004 06:54 AM

ordering meals is for chickens, a true man can cook for himself (though it might be rather dogfood) :winkwink:

Most of the time i like to order my meals.

beergood 08-13-2004 06:59 AM

I don't eat fast food but unless I"m having company I don't cook. Its more expensive to cook than to just order some decent food from a good restaraunt or eatery

I can imagine with a personality like yours that you must eat alone quite a bit.

cool1 08-13-2004 07:02 AM

I cook for both my 3 1/2 yr old daughter and myself
So I have to make nutritious, healthy meals and snacks

phogirl69 08-13-2004 07:04 AM

Unfortunately i don't have a mom/partner/maid to cook for me. All my cooking is done in the microwave... because I'm lazy like hell.... And I order food to go a lot because I sure as hell am not going to sit in a restaurant and eat by myself.

To the poster above who said that it's more expensive to cook, that's not true at all. I used to cook when I wasn't so lazy and it is MUCH cheaper to cook if you know where to shop (not at the regular grocery store but other "secret" places that sell stuff cheaper) and if you know what to buy. I don't even have energy to get up early in the morning let alone cooking.

I very rarely eat fastfood.

If fast food wouldn't make one fat, I'd eat it all the time :)

JSA Matt 08-13-2004 03:48 PM

I cook for myself, although I would probably starve to death without the grill on my balcony :glugglug

It is not more expensive to cook. What planet are you on?

In a restaurant I can buy a nice chicken or steak dinner for $15-$20.

In the supermarket I can buy 4 whole chickens for that much, or 3 decent steaks.

I can usually put together a good meal complete with cooked veggies, a side dish like pasta, rice or potato, and a main meat dish in about 20-30 minutes tops. In the time it takes to do a McDeath's drive-thru you can buy enough food at the grocery store to last you a week.

sexyclicks 08-13-2004 03:59 PM

cooking is fun and so easy too
when working 3-4 hours, it also makes a very nice break from work :thumbsup

hilly 08-13-2004 03:59 PM

infectd 08-13-2004 04:33 PM

Vitasoy 08-13-2004 04:49 PM

Thank gawd for the foreman grill :)

jade_dragon 08-13-2004 04:54 PM

one of my great joys is cooking for myself and also for friends and family. Once you get a basic idea of what does what, what should go with what and get all kinds of tools/gadgets you can whip out meals pretty quickly!

kmanrox 08-13-2004 04:55 PM

yes i do..

i give money to my maid...

and she cooks...

hence i caused cooking to happen for myself... you dig?

TurboTrucker 08-13-2004 06:01 PM

I already posted my recipe for beef stroganoff, here's my recipe for beef stew.

Small amount of oil
Small amount of flour
1/8 cup flour
1 onion
2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp salt
1 can S&W original stewed tomatoes
2 - 2 1/2 lb stew meat
3 lb potatoes
1 bag baby carrots
1/2 cup of a small can tomato sauce

Sautee chopped onion in oil. (use about 2-3 tbsp)

Brown meat with a little bit of flour. (use about 2 tbsp)

Add 3 1/2 C Water, 2 tsp salt, stewed tomatoes (I like to chop them in the food processor), 1/2 C tomato sauce. Bring to boil then simmer covered 2 hours.

After 1 hour 40 minutes, peel and chop the potatoes. Baby carrots don't need anything done to them.

Add potatoes, carrots, mixture of 1/8 C flour & 1 cup water, 1/2 tsp salt. Bring to boil, simmer about 50 minutes, or until vegetables are done.

I cook nearly every meal here and very rarely order in. Fast food is limited to the odd road trip or strange craving.
I am also very picky about ingrediants used, grow a vast amount of my own produce/herbs, buy new steer each year that a rancher raises, slaughters, and ages for me (for most of my beef). Get poultry from locals who raise them, same with eggs, and so on.
I am positive my kicthen knives, pots, and pans cost more than my first two cars. Basicly I am a cooking freak.

JSA Matt 08-13-2004 06:15 PM

Depending on how much time you have (brine works wonders for pork), to what you have on hand (stuffing them is great), to what fruits you have (pork goes well with fruit braising).

ClamSmacker 08-13-2004 06:27 PM

I love Beetroot Soup, the Polski way :thumbsup

And I cook a decent BBQ !

Rankings 08-13-2004 06:30 PM

I fry the chicken and grill the steaks. Wifey does all the rest.

phogirl69 08-13-2004 06:34 PM

Men who know how to cook are sexy, there's nothing hotter! Cooking can be very sensual; all the different textures and smells of the foods can really arouse all the senses!!

I'm open for anything... if I don't have it I can pick it up, that's why we have grocery stores!

No one ? :glugglug
