How dagereous is Argentina?

PLanning to visit it!
what is your ups and downs?

Dagwolf 08-12-2004 08:43 PM

What part of Argentina? It makes a great deal of difference.. although I think almost any part of it would be fantastic to visit, Buenos Aires is, by reputation, the "Paris of South America".

Jer 08-12-2004 08:52 PM

People think South America is Iraq or something.

It's not dangerous.

Jer 08-12-2004 08:58 PM

To play safe go out with some money in your pocket, ID and credit card. No watches, no jewelry, no expensive cameras.

fr8 08-12-2004 08:59 PM

"Dont cry for me Argentina!!"

Guessing you'll be going to Buenos Aires? Big city, has its good and its bad... just gotta be careful where you walk... you pretty much get the idea by looking around and seeing people and faces if you're in a good zone or a bad one...

Anything near the center of the city is safe, of course you always have to be with your defenses a little up, just like in any other place.

Remember it's practically the middle of winter right now, so don't expect sunny weather...

Like they said above, don't walk around with expensive watches and jewelry (basic rules for any city, I would say)... try not to draw too much attention to yourself and don't be afraid to ask around at the stores and shops if the area you are in is safe or not...

Just my...:2 cents:

Well I'm from Argentina, but i'm not from Buenos Aires, i'm from Rosario, the second biggest city of Argentina. Buenos Aires is a great place but u have to be carefull with kidnappings. Lately, in Buenos Aires, there has been a lot of kidnappings, especially foreign people with dollars if u know what i mean. And if u want to go to a very much safer place, just come here to Rosario, u wont regret, we have the best girls in the country (this is Buenos Aires people opinion, so.. :winkwink: ), we have beaches, and a lot of fun places to go. And the nights are great with a lot of places to go and beautifull women to spend the night with :winkwink:

Anyway, thats just my :2 cents:

Good luck!!

Sorry for my poor english

I've been in bs as 4 years ago and it is a really beautiful city, you have to visit Puerto Maderos, La Recoleta, the Obelisco at 9 de Julio.. etc..

You'll be amazed of how nice is that city.

Well, It depends.
There are some places where its not safe at all, like in USA and the rest of the world, and the economy is stable now, the president we have now is much more competent than the other one we had 3 years ago... (Fernando de la Rua)

I recommend you to not come here with expensive shits because some fuckers can rob you...
