I just killed my all of my Fish!!!

Right so I got this new fish to add to my aquarium $60 worth called "Pseudotropheus Burower" apparently an extreamly rare fish from Hawaii,
I just got it coz it looks good anyway the guy In the shop warned me no to put it in with my little Guppys...
I thought fuck it I have 12 if it eats one or two thats the way the ocean works.

Anyway so I add this new fish and it starts going fucking mad swimming around like fucking crazy and headbutting all the other fish in my once calm tank
I'm thinking hell yeah I love this fucker!

I wake up this morning and all hell had broke lose!
This fucker had some how moved the Rocks and knocked over plants!

I count my fish and all 11 out of 12 of my guppys were dead with their tails all bitten off and shit!

The last one was barely alive and stuck to the filter because it had no tail to swim away,
So I looked after the little thing as best I could all day gave it a seprate tank ect and finally had it eating again I was really happy to have saved the little shit,

Then when changing the water the fucker jumped out and swam down the plug hole :1orglaugh

Guess my Clown loaches will all be dead in the morning!

Jace 08-12-2004 05:42 PM

kind of like getting betas and putting them in together

Nader 08-12-2004 05:45 PM

Good Luck man! good story :1orglaugh

freeadultcontent 08-12-2004 05:46 PM

Oh might as well say it now. You went dislexic in your thread title.

NoCarrier 08-12-2004 05:48 PM

Spray your fish with a bottle of dry air when he's doing thing you don't want to. You have to train him.

TheWildcard 08-12-2004 05:48 PM

That's some funny shit man :1orglaugh

Fred Quimby 08-12-2004 05:48 PM

I've just been reading up about him apparently it is one of the most Aggressive you can get in an aquarium and will not back down from any other fish no matter what the size LoL

It also says they prefer to be in groups of 3 or 4 fuck even getting another one :1orglaugh

yeah those things are cool... I used to have a tank with 6 large oscars a couple jack dempseys and one of those red devil fish. It was at a place I moved in and the previous tenant had left it.

It was insane that like ten aggressive fish all lived in one 40 gallon tank. I think they had all grown from little fish or something in there. I had to give them away it was sad they were neglected like that.

ahh we have an expert here :thumbsup
is there another fish you recommend that stop him from being so aggressive?

Furious_Male 08-12-2004 06:02 PM

African Cichlid VS. Guppy. Umm no kidding. Sorry but next time listen to the pet store employee they arent all idiots.

Nice looking fish though. Now just set up a lot of little caves and such in your tank and stick with Africans.

Meta Ridley 08-12-2004 06:04 PM

The only thing that will keep him inline is a bigger ciclid.:(

Maybe Lake Malawi in Africa sounded Hawaiin to the guy :1orglaugh

Im far from a cichlid expert but that is an African Cichlid (Opposite of the South American Cichlids such as Oscars, Firemouths, and Jack Dempseys) and in laymens terms is called a Zebra (many different types).

Its actually from malawi. Lake Malawi in Africa. Siclids are by far the most agressive fresh water fish you can buy.

Ray@TastyDollars 08-12-2004 06:18 PM

Furious_Male beat me to it :)

ztik 08-12-2004 06:25 PM

That's a cichlid forum that'll be able to answer all of your Q's. Fishforums.com is a great place for *any* type of aquarium related info (I have nada to do with the forum; I just use it for info).

chodadog 08-12-2004 07:19 PM

That fish isn't from Hawaii. It's an african cichlid from lake malawi. I had a lot of malawi cichlids until recently. Really wanna get back into it. Besides salt water fish, i think they're the most beautiful fish you can get.

I fed my jack dempseys goldfish... they seemed to enjoy it much more then dry food. I would get some live food from the pet store to feed him... you will have much more fun that way.

Bummers about your fish.
That ciclid looks cool :thumbsup

I only have to little gold barb fish

one of them is a really tough little asshole.
One day I got this tiger barb and 2 days later he was dead the bigger gold barb wasted him.

Yesterday I was cleaning thier tank and had the 2 fish in a big bowl, no lid
I go in another room to have yoke while the outside of the tank is drying, that took about 10 mins.

I go to put the fish back in the tank and there is only one,
the big one had jumped out of the bowl and landed 5 feet away.
He was not moving or breathing He was dead.

So I took the fish and put him in a strainer and ran cold water over it for a couple of minutes then noticed that the gills had moved a bit.
I then took it and put it back in the tank and 5 minutes later the fish was ok.
Today the fish is fine no problems.
tough little fish, part catfish I think.

I agree it looks more like a jewel of some sort! Go get a managuense, butterkoferi or a red devil and you will own no other fish!

I was surprised when he lived
He had to have been out of the water for at least 5 or 6 minutes.

I do wanna get some of the ciclid fish
But not yet I am too new to caring for fish
I have a lot to learn first.

JayJay 08-12-2004 09:14 PM

NEWS UPDATE! He has now even stolen my little Clown loaches Sleeping cave !
He keeps on ramming the two little guys against the rock now all 3 of them are in there somehow,
I think this so called "chichilid" is the Devil disguised as a Fish

cool1 08-12-2004 09:25 PM

LOL
My Father in-law has one those that does the same thing and he also picks up rocks and spits them at the other fish.

Honestly, you shouldn't keep that fish in there with them. Maybe I'm a dick for seeing some guppies as "feeder fish", but clown loaches are really smart and funny fish. They shouldn't ever be in a tank with a cichlid.

I'll bet you'll find a free home for the clowns in a few hours online.

Good luck no matter what happens.

You should name that sucker Tyson! :Graucho
