Jim McGreevey has announced at a Thursday news conference that he is ?a gay American,? and resigned as Governor of New Jersey shortly after his initial announcement. The resignation will be effective November 15. McGreevey also admitted at the conference that he had a homosexual extramarital affair.

See this is why it sucks to live in a place where it's "wrong" to be gay. Because all these gay men and women go out and get married to someone they dont want to, in order to make their families happy, then they have to go sneaking around at night in order to be thelselves.

If the world just treated gay people like being gay is a non-issue then people would be much happier in life and none of this lying bullshit.

He didn't have to, but it's probably for the best in this case. He's apparently being nailed with a sexual harrassment lawsuit by one of his former male aides. If I had to guess, I'd say this is why he's resigning.

Bingo, he decided to come forth on his own instead of being forced to talk about his sexuality in court. This guy already needed to leave because of his fundraising improprieties.
