World Poker Tournement - How to compete online?
 

When I watch WPT, the announcer usually mentions that so and so invested $10 or $20 to play on their website and won a seat in the tourny. Where is the damn site? Has anyone else heard about this or played?

I'm wondering if it is just a marketing gimmick of some sort but I would like to try if the site exists.

Those are called "satellite" tournaments. There can be multiple levels to them, too. For instance 100 Folks will invest $20, and enter a tournament, and the winner get a seat into a bigger tournament, and the winner of that can win a $25,000 seat to the offline championship, etc.

Go to PartyPoker and signup for a real money account ... they have satellite tournaments all the time.
