car audio gurus

I have two MTX 12" subwoofers in my car, do you think this amp is enough to push them? I'm not totally sure what the wattage on the speakers is.

When buying an amp, this is usually a vital piece of information :)

MTX makes a few different Lines of woofer. Need to know which one you have.

That amp will over heat if you run your subs in Parallel Mono.

It says it's 2 Ohm stable..but don't believe the hype It will see 1 Ohm on each side of the amp. I reccomend looking at Rockford Fosgate amps if price is the deciding factor. For the money you get the most out of their Punch Amps.

B Sandwich 08-11-2004 08:22 PM

and btw the subs are the cheaper, lower end model. not much wattage.

Jimmie 08-11-2004 08:26 PM

ive got a bigger amp than that pushing my 6 1/2 MB Quartz components, that are in my doors.

6x9's in the back, and i bet my system sounds 3 times as good as those 12's ever will...

patmccrotch 08-11-2004 08:59 PM

it may sound better but people are still going to laugh at your sorry ass rolling in an 82 camaro with your mullet flowing through the t-tops.

TurboTrucker 08-11-2004 09:27 PM

What ohms are the subs? You can get a much better deal on an amp from Ebay.

TurboTrucker 08-11-2004 09:29 PM

Yeah cause everyone knows 6x9s put out mega bass. :1orglaugh

Why you gotta take offense then? You asked for gurus......You got one and I pretty much answered your question as well.

You should be thanking me for my honest input instead of being a dick.

i reccomend running those off a punch amp. ( need to make sure you have a good enclosure for the subs)

In bridge-mono You will not be dissapointed for the money.

Ive got 2 sets of Mb quart 6.5's in my car with a 7 channel Phoenix Gold Titanium Amp. Along with 2 12" Subs and a Center Channel. Sounds Incredible. Thing is, I dont think you need that much power for the MB quarts. I have 50rms to each.

The key is clean power.

no. the question was if the amp was good enough to push the subs. In turn, you said that I would be laughed at for my components. If by components you mean my subs and amp, you are a fucking idiot. What does my sub quality have to do with the question? nothing. and no, you didn't even come close to answering the question, and provided no alternate solution.

kill yourself, you'd be better off coming back as a lobster.
