It will be fine... just don't drive your brand new BMW/Mercedes/Jag down there, you will most likely get a tree or stop sign through it.

lagwagon 08-11-2004 05:28 PM

Jace 08-11-2004 05:30 PM

How far are the keys??

Just how far away from Hollywood FL are these storm warnings..

I keep looking at the weather for Hollywood online and it seems fine. Just rain and T-storms is all.

Screaming 08-11-2004 06:51 PM

if it hits in the keys there will be rain but it depends on what side of the storm hits near hollywood as to how bad it will get, the north side of the storm is worse (i am pretty sure) i could be wrong but if i remember correctly thats it

Holy jeebus!

The party on Friday night is going to get realllll friendly. Hopefully it's just high winds and some rain instead of ugliness.

misty_dayz 08-11-2004 07:26 PM

It is a gov't ploy. Send a hurricane to Miami, prevent webmasters from returning home to comply with 2257....online porn is then gone.

About a 4 hour drive from Miami to Keywest. So it's close.

Hope you all stay safe!!! Post pics for those of us that must remain at an undisclosed location.

Actually, it looks rather small on the hurricane side of things. Category 1 I think it is. Andrew, however, was a Category 5 and was INCREDIBLE.

Yeah, well let's just hope it stays a category 1 or that it goes back to tropical storm status.

Yeah, it's not going to be very exciting for those of us who really love a good storm :(

For those flying in on Friday, there may be some delays, but unless it goes to a 2, it's going to be a TS again pretty soon after it hits land. Plus Hollywood is on the FAR end of the watch. I think it will be focused on the gulf side of the state.

But hurricanes are tricky! :)

lagwagon 08-11-2004 11:31 PM

we are gonna have to take some sweet pics of the storm, i am just hoping this doesnt make me stay down there waaaayyy longer then the convention.
