If your wife/gf makes more money than you, are you a LOSER?

My buddies have a big thing against having to 'depend' on their women financially. What are your thoughts?

AGF 08-10-2004 04:10 AM

I would not care if my gf made more money then me.

EviLGuY 08-10-2004 04:17 AM

I think it'd be great.. I'd sit home and play computer games and watch tv. :Graucho

.. actually not too different from now.

hova 08-10-2004 04:24 AM

Thor 08-10-2004 04:26 AM

I think it would be awsome if my wife made more money then me, only stupid people would have a problem with that :)

s9ann0 08-10-2004 04:29 AM

pxxx 08-10-2004 06:46 AM

My girlfriend will never make ass much money than i do.

Peaches 08-10-2004 06:46 AM

A lot of guys have this problem. I dated a guy who at first was fine with it, then slowly started freaking out. He'd max out his credit cards just to pay for things. Didn't make any sense to me. :(

DAMN man thats the fucking life :)

My wife right now makes about as much as I do, but hopefully I'll be passing her up in the next few months.

Kassidy 08-10-2004 07:54 AM

I make more than my husband and he doesn't seem to have a problem with it. And besides, it's all 'our' money, not 'mine' and 'his'. When you're building a life, family, and home together, why does it matter where the money comes from? I put in the time and effort building the business and he works a regular job, this way we have the best of both worlds. He has medical and dental benefits and a nice retirement package...plus some extra time on his hands to be my lawn bitch ;)

I think a guy who feels threatened by it has esteem problems :2 cents:

Just keep your finances separate. She doesn't have to know how much you make, you don't have to know how much she makes.

Gheenz 08-10-2004 07:57 AM

When you just sleep all day and play video games and just wait for your girl to bring home a paycheck then you're a fucking loser. If your girl makes more than you but you still work, then no you're not a loser.

Women should get the same chance for a career as men and careers sometimes take unusual turns. So I don't see a problem, if you "depend" on your mate for a certain period of time as long as this is something mutually agreed.

jacked 08-10-2004 08:08 AM

i wouldn't care if my girl was making more money than me as i would have an income also so we'd be making a lot of money together :thumbsup

iFliPcEss 08-10-2004 08:14 AM

I don't think it should be an issue since, you are a couple, you should be great for each one's achievement

Gunni 08-10-2004 08:16 AM

I don't see how if the wife/gf makes more money than me I would "have" to depend on her financially :2 cents:

Unless of course she made like millions a year and wanted to be with me and still life the life of a millionare, then yeah, she would have to support some of that, but in you average relationship you're only a loser if you don't do anything :glugglug

blazin 08-10-2004 08:36 AM

Personally I wouldn't have a problem with it.....

I wouldn't rely on no woman though even if they was filthy rich :2 cents:

Doctor Dre 08-10-2004 08:46 AM

Your body is not a pimp then

DarkJedi 08-10-2004 08:48 AM

LOSER.

Elli 08-10-2004 09:50 AM

What's wrong with a little give and take? One works while the other goes through school, or one stays home with a child, etc etc. The important thing is that both partners contribute to the family, and there are more ways to contribute than monetarily.

Nader 08-10-2004 09:54 AM

You might feel like one! But, i think as long as she does'nt throw it in your face it's cool! :thumbsup

you hit the nail on the head...

been through various cycles over the last 12 years of marraige, I expect more to come...

if you or your partner have security issues then its generally about a few more things than 'just' money...and that should be dealt with...

Sarah_Jayne 08-10-2004 10:05 AM

maybe if you live in 1942

Vitasoy 08-10-2004 10:07 AM

I could care less if she did, I'd be happy for her. :)

WiredGuy 08-10-2004 10:10 AM

Doesn't bother me one bit, it must be nice to have a sugar mamma!

WG

Sosa 08-10-2004 10:10 AM

Wouldn't bother me, most of the money is for family etc so why would it bother?

Firehorse 08-10-2004 01:53 PM

Kitty and I help each other in many different ways. It's a partnership not a competition! :)
