Starting a business witha friend - good idea or bad?
Any thoughts on the subject?
|
:warning bad idea :warning
|
in most cases bad idea
try to see what it takes for you to do it yourself |
very bad idea rather do it with a stranger
|
how long have you known your "friend" ?
|
Usually mixing money and friends isn't a very good idea. But yes, it can work.
|
I hate to say this, but the worst idea in the world. You enter into a partnership when you both NEED each other, not because you're friends. It's easier and often times better to just hire him or let him hire you to work for the other unless you need each other to accomplish your goals.

I have tried to start businesses with several friends and it has never worked out. Once the money starts coming in people change and normally not for the good. If you can do it on your own you should try it alone.
If you must have a partner make sure every little detail about the partnership is in writing so you will cover your ass if it starts to fall apart. IMHO |
I'll say this... I've hired friends before and have since learned my lesson. A partnership with friends? Ahaha!

I think it's a good idea if you no them for a long time.
|
If you value your friendship, don't do it. If you want to see your friendship turn to shit rather quickly, go for it.
I've also learned that the hard way. Never, ever again. |
I learned that the hard way, just stay friends because if you bring money into the relationship either the business will fail or your friendship will.
That's just my personal experience and opinion though :) |
good idea
|
I teamed up with a high school friend we werent very close until recently became neighboor...partnership working out good!
:thumbsup |
Starting a business with ANYBODY else is a bad idea.
|
D.O.N.T D.O I.T <-----You've been warned!
|
It really depends on what the business is, and what you know about that persons work ethic.

99% bad idea

Best idea to work with family.
|
It can work if you both define your roles clearly and if you both have the ability to communicate effectively. :2 cents:
|
an extremely horrible idea. dont mix friends with business, period.

stick to solo unless he has a boatload of cash to get things rolling or excellent skills you don't have |
Only if you have the utmost trust in him/her.
Otherwise, bad idea. Although, ive been in business with a friend for a while now and it works out wonderfully.:2 cents: |
Very bad idea . I don,t fuck arround with friends and money anymore

The only thing it can do is pretty much hurt your friendship . I trust my friend 100 % ... I trusted him with 15 k cash b4 . But I wouldn't do a long term bizz with him |
not a good idea, if you do it make sure everything is clear and signed :2 cents:
|
business and friendship don't mix.

It's unfair to say don't start a business with a friend. If your friend qualifies for being your partner it's a more preferable choice over someone unknown.
|
I went into business with a friend.....
And it ended bad....real bad |
I think it's a bad idea.
|
Never works out...Wind up lossing the friendship and the business if things go wrong.
