Hey dude, MLS is a great place to start, as almost all residential properties for sale are listed here.

Also if you are looking into commercial or rental properties another great site is ICX. I find most of my rental properties from ICX.

Alternatively, pick up your local newspaper and check in the classifieds section. There are always homes for sale in there that are being sold privately.

Last but not least try and make friends with a mortgage broker or money lender in your town. Those guys always are being approached by people looking to sell/get equity out of their houses and can't afford them.
