Is Doom 3 Worth Getting?
 

I could use another game to get away from work for a few days...

So is Doom 3 worth getting?

I'm not even gonna bother with this one. I can't wait for Half Life 2. I just heard that it will be released with a new and improved version of CS on the new engine.

defiantly worth it... it's by far the most graphically intense game i've played to date. killer weapons, levels, and monsters too... your biggest concern should be your pc. you better have one hell of a beefy gaming machine if you want to run doom in all it's pixel glory!:BangBang:

I think doom three is worth getting for pc.

I think I'm gonna wait a bit. I'm drooling over this game but $100 (canadian) is a little much for me to be shelling out for a game.

Thats the reason why Im not getting half-life... having a new CS would stop me from working :1orglaugh

I saw some demo video the other day. I love CS and this finally bring it into the 21st Century.

It's never quite gonna beat the UT series, but its great when you play it at 2am on the T.V [S-Video out] with the speakers up full blast... BOOM. :1orglaugh

I play Doom3 on pc... gotta say I think it rocks... but has scared the knickers off me several times.... Play alone and turn off the lights for maximum effect.... loads of mods avaiable for it aswell:thumbsup

Going go to compusa to pick this up.

I'm waiting for half-life 2 - I'm confident that this is gonna be the 'one'.

Doom 3 is mediocre at best. It's hard to tell if the graphics are good or not since the game is so fucking dark. All you can see through a good portion of the game is whatever your flashlight illuminates. Multiplayer is just plain shitty.

It's more a demo than a game, stunning graphics, but I'm missing the fun :2 cents:

not that great of a game... grafix are amazing, but the gameplay too easy and story sux .. overall, worth the d/l , not sure worth buying

That game is just fantastic, it's intense, scary, the graphics are just amazing!!!!!

Then 1 hour later your realise it's the same thing over and over.. The 10000th monster jumping at your from a dark corner isn't scary anymore..

How is the multiplayer mode?

The story sucks, the graphics are awesome. I like it, but it isnt as great as expected

Definitely one of the best PC games made to date, if not the best..

Quake 4 - gonna be the best game until Quake 5.

They said that their next project is going to be something completely different.. (i.e, no quake 4) At least not for now..
