"The Cure" is playing in Toronto tomorrow.

My wife just found out today and she won't get to go. She's a HUGE fan. Me, I like them... I don't really get all their stuff though.

Doctor Dre 08-08-2004 10:05 PM

I didn't hear nothing about them in the last 2 years or so ... been a fucking while now

cosis 08-08-2004 11:04 PM

their current album is in the top ten on both sides of the atlantic...or atleast it was two weeks ago.

They are on my list of bands I have to see before I die. They have been mostly doing music fests or charity gigs this year. They need to do a proper gig in London. Afterall, he is hardly a stranger to the city.

They have one of the biggest (and in my view best) back catalogs of any band still touring today. From Killing An Arab to the new stuff, I enjoy it all.

classic band. haven't seen them yet, but i will one day...

I thought they broke up or something a long damn time ago? Or did they just fade away?

Radio is too busy playing hiphop. The Cure are still going strong. Saw them a number of years back. They are my all time favorite band that is still together.

TheMob 08-09-2004 06:07 AM

i saw them this summer.. didn't think it was all that great. i guess they're just not my kind of band.

Phoenix 08-09-2004 06:07 AM

where are they playing? id like to check it out

LadyMischief 08-09-2004 06:13 AM

Tell her that they are broadcasting the concert live and uncut on 102.1 The Edge.

ATL_Ryan 08-09-2004 06:45 AM

I've seen them 3 times. Just saw them here in Atlanta a couple weeks ago. They always put on a great show. The crowd looks a little different than it did the first time I saw them in the mid nineties. Less Goth kids and more 30 somethings. The creepy Goth kids were the ones that looked out of place at the last show I went to.

Nydahl 08-09-2004 06:49 AM

I have seen then 2 times here in Prague - was great show for me as I was huge fan when I was 18 or so
Their music is still unique

sherie 08-09-2004 06:51 AM

They are broadcasting it live on 102.1 (The Edge) I'm suppose to go, but I have way to much crap to do beforeFL. My hairstylist is doing his hair and make-up, he took my appt that damn Robert Smith! LOL

candyflip 08-09-2004 06:56 AM

My girl has two tickets and was supposed to take her little sister, but the lil' sis just backed out last minute.

Guess who gets to go now?

now that is a claim to fame! Amazing how much work goes into smeared lipstick and messy hair.

Don't waste your money. :2 cents:

I've been a huge fan of the Cure since the 80's and I went to their show here in Tampa - it sucked. :(

I know someone who saw them in NYC a few years ago. They said that aside from the fact that I wasn't there with them, that the concert was great. They sounded great. Play lots of old tunes along with the new stuff. Put on a good show.

I for one, can't wait.

everyone does a bad gig now and then, I have heard only good things from people that have seen them live.

Trafficbrokercom 08-09-2004 07:22 AM

the only thing I like about them are Robert Smith's background vocals to "Da Hype" from Junior Jack ..

I took Fizzgig to see them live once, in Dallas. It was a great show.. the Bloodflowers tour.

:thumbsup

korzon 08-12-2004 06:43 PM

the cure rock:thumbsup

Goatse 08-12-2004 10:53 PM

Robert Smith should ditch the bouffant haircut and the silly gay make-up. It's 2004, not 1984. You're in your mid-40's and fat, Robert. He and Angus need to buy a clue and realize that we're no longer laughing with them...
