this domain is great for gambling if you believe an Asteroid will be headed for or will hit the earth in the next 5 years or so. If that happens traffic from all the news will be huge, like 50-100k a day easily, for a short time tho.

probably not. Asteroid is a regular word in the dictionary.

its a general word so i would asume no. Just like sun cannot stop you from using sun in your domain eventhou they have trademarked the name.

Most scientists don't have 12.5K to spend on a domain name, outside of grant money, that is. And it would be difficult to justify using 12.5K in grant money for that.

Sweet in that it is a one word domain name, but what are you going to use it for other than a science web site about astroids that makes little or no money?

Most of the people who would even be interested in it already have access to free university web space. These people do everything on .edu domains. .com domains are seen as commercial and are not as respected within this community.

If I had a buying horizon that long I'd be buying dopetrader.com right now. :Graucho
