It's a cycle. Some numbnuts comes along and gets all his accounts banned for spamming, so he sells the spammer to a few dozen people cheap as shit and you get bombarded. It will die down some then the next idiot will stumble onto it.

Wash, rinse, repeat.

Very simple : DONT GO INTO AOL CHAT ROOMS.

That would be why I don't use aol IM and can't imagine any webmaster using it for business. ICQ and you can import aol people that don't use ICQ

Try MSN. Seems to be one of the only clients without spam. Oops, that may change once the vultures from GFY get onto it ;)

just set it so only people on your buddy list can IM you.
