your music collection - the rare tune

I have been getting pretty sick of my music collection just recently (its 40Gb so its not like i dont have much), and im just wondering if anyone has any good suggestions for me. Most of the newer music just sucks ass, and you can only listen to the same shit so long. any suggestion is good, but im lookin for something that i havent heard yet. the only genre i cant stand is country, but from pvd to the deftones to OAR, i listen to everything else.

Download soulseek, then search KBD or Killed by Death. Enjoy.
And you can't ever go wrong with Ramones, anyone who thinks otherwise I challenge a fight to the death.

Check out blues and jazz from the 1950s.

Follow its evolution from there.

It will enrich a lifetime.

:thumbsup

Johnny Ace

It's rare and really good. He killed himself playing Russian Roulette. It's a mystery as to why he gambled just when his career was taking off. The man and his music are interesting.

you can NEVER go wrong with the Buzzcocks. While we are keeping that sort of age I will throw in the Undertones (Teenage Kicks, Here Comes The Summer and My Perfect Cousin especially).

dennisthemenace 08-08-2004 06:18 AM

much of the stuff I like falls into that category for many people...

All rock/metal/hair band/whatever/etc. kind of stuff....

EZO
Sweet Pain
Jetboy
Bulletboys
Junkyard
The Rods
Riot
Krokus
Saxon
GBH
Biohazard

Most of these bands were fairly known, just not widely accepted so there's plenty of underexposed stuff here..

Tool is great.
For trippy music: Sphongle / Infected Mushrooms

Stamen 08-08-2004 07:45 AM

Every song rules from these bands, but here are two from each.

Our Lady Peace - Supermans Dead
Our Lady Peace - 4am

Opeth - The Drapery Falls
Opeth - Dirge For November

Porcupine Tree - Pure Narcotic
Porcupine Tree - Collapse the Light into Earth

VAST - Blue
VAST- Free

These songs are just good ones you may not have heard:

The Stranglers - Golden Brown
The Shins- Pressed in a Book
Tori Amos - Precious Things
Kicking Harold - Kill You
Gravity Kills - I'm Guilty
