Who Here Has Had Laser Eye Surgery?

I am scheduled in for my surgery for September 1st. I'm a perfect candidate and am getting custom lasik from the Waterloo Ontario TLC.

3 more weeks and no more specs! I can't wait!!!

How about you guys, have many of you had this surgery done before?

Jesus. STOP. Cancel the appointment now.

I'll do it in 25-30 years when they have perfected the science.
How do you know your eyes wont degenerate for the next 20 years slowly and then become irreparable?
Honestly I'd rather wear conctacts for the rest of my life than RISK going blind at ANY point.
At least now I know I can see with vision correction.

a friend of mine had it done a couple of months ago - pretty amazing. not sure i'll ever do it though, i sort of like to avoid surgery when possible ;)

Oh fuck relax, it's not experimental surgery here! LOL!

Millions of people have had this surgery done over the past 10 years. The chance for major problems are extremely low and if something did go wrong in 20-30 years I am sure there will be technology out to fix it by then. ;)

I'm paranoid. But don't come crying to daddy when you can't see in 5 years.

I'm hoping to get it sometime this winter. Not sure whether or not I'll be elegible though.

My Dad got it. The surgery fixed his bad eye and made his good eye bad. :(

I'll blame it on masturbation not surgery :winkwink:

It's already been going on for about 15 years now I believe. Any surgery has risk. Walking outside has risk.

What can I say, I'm a wild man!

Heh... funny that's what I say right now too.

Are you getting the upsell with the night eye vision?

I plan on getting it if I am able.. when my eyes get a little worse. I can't stand contact lenses (they make my eyes water and water) , so it's that or glasses.

I had it done! It is great!!

My mom was around 20/250 in both eyes and had been since she was a little girl. She had it done a couple of years ago and she's 20/20 in both now. She said it's one of the best things she's ever done for herself. She couldn't sleep in contacts so until her surgery she had never known what it was like to wake up in the morning and be able to see. Luckily, I have perfect vision in both eyes, but I'd definitely have it done if I didn't.

Oh- and they let me sit in the room and watch her have the surgery! It was really neat. There was a huge big screen TV that I could see it on, as well.
