How much does an island in the Bahamas cost..hehe

Bud Fox: How much is enough?

Gordon Gekko: It's not a question of enough, pal. It's a zero sum game, somebody wins, somebody loses. Money itself isn't lost or made, it's simply transferred from one perception to another.

Gordon Gekko: I'm talking about liquid. Rich enough to have your own jet. Rich enough not to waste time. Fifty, a hundred million dollars, buddy. A player. Or nothing.

Anything else to say?

NichePay_Manny 08-06-2004 03:38 PM

If you know how to make cash - Their will be something inside you telling you to go on - Never retire.

I was going to retire at 50 - Couldn't resist the urge to carry on.

studio 08-06-2004 03:43 PM

Hello,

IMHO, at 30 you should not have your house paid off... Use that equity to be doing other projects that will create income or equity. Morgage rates are really low... lock in a great rate, an get that equity out and use it to make a 10% return and your ahead of the game! Just a thought... Besides home morgage interest is tax deductable also.

Good luck,
sound like your doing all right...

I'm not into huge boobs especially... but anyone who can look at that and not get a woody is DEAD!

adultwebware 08-06-2004 05:33 PM

I would consider a constant flow in amount of 60k/mo be a good point to retire.

pornstar2pac 08-06-2004 05:35 PM

when I hit 1.4 million is when I'll retire

fr8 08-06-2004 05:36 PM

They say when you retire now to live without a worry you need to have 10million.

10 mil is way overkill....So for 20 years thats 500k a year...who made 200k for the last 20 years?

If you had your houses, cars and boats paid off...cost of living included mabie 100k a year that still gives you a allowance of spending almost 9k a month..with no monthly bills thats kinda over kill..

i mabie spend 5k a month on toys NOT BILLS thats 20k a month and 5k is good for me...so i guess i only need 1.2 for the next 20 years...woohoo...got that in the bank....

Bahamas here i come :glugglug

KRL 08-06-2004 05:49 PM

I don't understand people that want to retire.

If you love what you do why would you want to give that up and play golf every day. That gets boring so fast.

I want to die at my desk. :glugglug

there are many other worthwhile pursuits beyond running businesses and making money. i don't understand why people can't grasp that.

the very last thing i want to do is die at my desk :)

Firehorse 08-06-2004 06:11 PM

I haven't thought of retiring. I enjoy a great balance between work and play. We would need at least 5 million plus to travel as much as we wanty and have the right people look after our businesses. :)
