How do you deal with your employees on lazy Fridays?
Drives me nutty the way everyone in the office thinks just cause its Friday they can be so relaxed, not work as hard, take longer lunches and on top of it sneak out early.
WTF? How do you deal with your staff on Fridays? :BangBang: |
Sacrifice one to make your point.

Hang a sign that says, beatings will continue until employee morale improves.

I give them all beer around 3:00pm. :)
We're a more relaxed environment here and our work day for the sales guys is not 9-5. More like 9am to 9am :winkwink: DH |
invest in some ankle shackles and chains, install them by the desks
curiousity will get the best of them, and they will ask what they are for, just tell them your hoping they never have to find out :winkwink: |

Friday is NOT the weekend. Should be very simple. You could have dress down friday if other times theres a strict dress code. Pay mon-thurs. if fridays seem like a waste. Send slackers home and mark it off allowed sick or vacation days. Friday is just as important a work day as any other. Theres no excuse for any lower expectations on your part. Theres also no excuse for giving less than expected on any other day on their part. Just make it clear. |
if you people knew what i used to do during work hours and during the graveyard shift, none of you would hire me.

Set up One day bonus for friday! Everyone loves extra cash before the weekend.

Drop a couple of red pills in the coffee machine and watch them go all day :1orglaugh

I get paid for productivity, I forget what its like to ride the clock.

This is why I stick to hiring freelance workers, or contract based workers.
When I put 1000%, I expect at least 100% from workers. :helpme But your needs may be way off from mine. |
arrange starbucks deliveries and if they don't like coffee pour it on their head

If it's EVERY Friday, you need to do something.
If it's the Friday before a big show, I'm afraid it's the nature of the beast. I've noticed that before any big shows, the work atmosphere and business that gets done is virtually non-existent. Email and icq responses about business drop to next to nothing. Icq responses about what parties you'll be attending at the show however could keep you busy all day. About a week after people have "Recovered" from the show, things go back to normal. |

Thats what I did back in the day, gave out checks after clockout at 5. If i knew the guy was slacking that day, i'd send him home, close the office 30 minutes early. Make an example of one of them.

You think that's bad. Try getting people to work in a public company when your stock is at $243 a share and the receptionist is worth $5MM.
Talk about people glued to their datek streamer. |

Tell them since they did so good messing around that next friday they will have to watch gigli over and over and that will continue til they are productive 5 days a week...

I usually have her go take a hot bath. Or sometimes, I send her outside to lay out by the pool for awhile. Occasionally, I like for her to go meet 3 or 4 of her girlfriends and have lunch, so they can talk about all the people they know and don't like. If her concentration is really off, I might send her to shop for shoes.
Just today, I had to make her take a 45 min. nap on the couch. Normally she doesn't do that, but I think she stayed up way too late last night and had to be somewhere at 8:30 this morning, so she's been really tired today. |
Friday is the rhum n coke day . We bring 3 40oz and a lot of coke ... it's a chillin day

We usually wear business casual attire. On Fridays, it's FULL casual attire. More relaxed.
