2257 how many of youhave actually

spoken to a lawyer about this new stuff

you do realize that 80% of the crap being posted on the industry message boards is just that.. crap dont you :1orglaugh

i feel sorry for everyone who is going to be making changes based on the 'legal information' they are aquiring from message forum posts

everyones situation when it comes to this new law is different and the only way to make sure that you are compliant with these new laws when they go into effect is to speak to a lawyer to discuss how they affect you on an individual basis

keyboard lawyers = worse legal advice possible :2 cents:

Im just producing the content and the re doing whats already been required by law. When the new law is in Stone or OFFICIAL. We will adjust according. Right now we are re loading all our content to give out the non blacked out IDS and model releases. Too many website owners are needing it non blacked out so we are taking care of them and re-doing the content.:thumbsup

My husband was talking to a UK lawyer last night to see where we stand (largely on the publishing of our address in relation to the UK data protection act) but we are pretty much waiting to hear back. They are just as confused.

Kimmykim 08-06-2004 11:02 AM

I've talked to 5 different ones about it :)

Exactly like I've said. The lawyers are the ones that are gonna benefit from this law, NOT the underage models.

You could go to 10 lawyers and get 15 different interpretations.

No ONE lawyer can tell you exactly what you need to do to be compliant, but they'll certainly take your money while they spew "Their" interpretation.

Not until someone is prosecuted will this be any clearer. Then, it'll either get thrown out of court, or the precedent will be set and everyone will be scrambling yet again (First off, of course, they'll contact their lawyer).
