Meteor Showers During Internext
 

On the 11th and 12th (I know that's before the actual start of the show, but most of us will be out there for one or both of those days) - there will be a nice meteor shower. Around 2am, face east, and check out the sky.

If its clear outside, we should be able to see some meteors. There is a lot of light pollution there so it is going to take away from some of the show.

If you can't be at the show, you should still be able to see it, as it will be viewable in the entire Northen Hemishere. I have a great spot close to home, so I'll check it out on the 10th and see if I can't catch some early Perseids in the dark sky.

There was a nice downpour last year for about half an hour. I remember the pool and patio area just cleared out and the lobby was fuckin' packed.

Fun stuff.

I hope we get a good thunderstorm or 2.

This is why I love living in the woods :) I see shooting stars almost every clear night, but the meteor showers are AWESOME! Thanks for the info, Mike - I'll be watching on the 11th for sure. If anyone plans on watching in FL on the 12th, FIND ME :)

Actually poolside will be tough with all the lights down there. If your room has a balcony that is a good bet, at least then you'll be looking above some lights and it will be easier to see. Mother Nature may hide the show but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I'll be on my balcony smoking a cigar and enjoying the view...hopefully...
