depth finders and weather reports regarding currents, and tides are looked at by fisherman every day across the world.

Gut feeling I think he's guilty. Based on evidence the prosecution hasn't proven it yet. Plus they have bungled almost every step along the way. Our law doesn't allow you to convict on gut feeling.

As to your point, agreed and understood. However, he had no history of doing it in the past. Combined with all the other "circumstancial" evidence, it was the turning point for me.

He's a scumbag jackass for sure, but there's no way in hell I'd jump to a guilty conclusion without seeing all the evidence for myself. My personal beliefs don't matter, it's what can be proven. And with what I've seen in the media, I haven't seen any proof, yet.
