Are You Planning On Seeing Open Water ?(Shark Movie)

Are You Planning On Seeing Open Water ? The trailer looks Awsome. http://openwatermovie.com Nothing Like a Good Shark Attack Movie. They are calling this the best Shark Movie Since Jaws. I have a felling ot may even be better because it's based on true Events. Being Left behind on a Scuba Diving Trip in the Middle Of The Ocean = Bad Times :helpme

xlogger 08-05-2004 11:12 AM

I watch all the new movies that come out. But this one im going to skip. Looks cheap.

okny 08-05-2004 11:16 AM

I will go see, always been a fan of sharks.

JSA Matt 08-05-2004 11:17 AM

Looks really, really lame...

Sammy4u 08-05-2004 11:19 AM

I will definetly go see it. I am a huge movie fan but his one has really caught my attention. I even had a dream that it was me stranded out in the middle of the ocean. Scary stuff. I hope the movie lives up to the hype.

How Lame can it be ? It's based on Actual events.
Imagine being left behind on a Scuba Diving trip and having to survive in the middle of the ocean. I think in real life they actually died. :helpme

Lucy 08-05-2004 11:33 AM

I'll definitely watch it,but for sure after my returning from vacation, because I don't like watch movies with sharks before going to the ocean, that's always such a shitty feelings:winkwink:

Bansheelinks 08-05-2004 11:34 AM

those actors are real people in real water with real sharks swimming around them........

i've read about this...........basically the actors and the director signed releases saying they wouldn't sue each other.........the female actress in the lead got bit by a barracuda the very first day of filming but trudged on.........

the sharks were really coming around them and so on and so forth..........which makes their terror not only authentic but doubtlessly real...........

what i'm telling you is................i'll be there with popcorn

:thumbsup

Oh Really ? Damn. Who risks their lives to make a movie ?
Jesus Christ, that is a death wish. I heard there is actual footage from the original couples camera ? Do you know what happened to the original couple this happened to ?

Platinum Adam 08-05-2004 11:50 AM

I think it looks really good, I will definitly see this one :thumbsup

Imagine sitting through 2 hours of a couple people being stuck in the water, crying, and bitching. I bet the shark is the most exciting part of the movie. I can wait 3 months for it to be on HBO :)

David! 08-05-2004 11:53 AM

Looks good to me, but again I watched Giggli :(

FreeFastHost 08-05-2004 11:53 AM

I think it looks pretty good.

mahoney 08-05-2004 11:54 AM

Well it can't be worse then passion of christ. That was just a snuff film :winkwink:

detoxed 08-05-2004 11:55 AM

yea... sharks are badass... such awesome animals

scary as hell also

Bansheelinks 08-05-2004 12:22 PM

apparently the movie is gripping from beginning to end........a 75 minute anxiety attack of intensity

SleazeQueen 08-05-2004 01:02 PM

The movie isn't 2 hours, it's 79 minutes according to IMDB. I think it looks like it will be very exciting and suspenseful. I can't wait to be scared to go in the water again. :)

MandyBlake 08-05-2004 01:45 PM

It looks too scary for me.
Knowing the real story, I can't see it. I know I would go insane if that ever happened to me.
NO way.

Doctor Dre 08-05-2004 02:21 PM

I agree the movie looks cheap . And I don't like that kind of movies anyways

Kicker 08-05-2004 02:30 PM

yep:glugglug

ChandieGirl 08-05-2004 02:30 PM

I would love it if this turned out to be a truly scary movie.
I just saw "The Village" and couldn't believe how bad it was.

Made me long for Freddy and Jason. At least they made me jump a little. :)

WebTitan 08-05-2004 02:32 PM

i will be there

Thats what I heard :(

EviLGuY 08-05-2004 03:18 PM

Sounds like a decent flick to me.. I remember getting so scared by Jaws as a kid. :)

Cory W 08-05-2004 03:38 PM

I will see it.

It would be interesting to see if Spielberg has made any statements regarding it, he has went on record saying that he regretted the reputation he gave sharks. (People take things too seriously these days).

I wonder if this will create a brand new generation of shark haters!

The movie does look good though.

well there's no doubt that we should conserve on shark-fishing and whatnot, and protect certain species that are in numbers trouble like the Great White, but they still do attack us.........and why not explore these fears in film?

Vitasoy 08-05-2004 03:46 PM

I'd probably rent it, but if it's good then...

I am going to see it.

They rarely attack us. Very rarely.

I just find it interesting seeing Speilbergs regret of his movie. The composition of the situation is intriguing, that is all. No real shark movies have came out since Jaws, I would argue that environmentalist, activist, speilberg have all played a part.

I happen to think it is entertainment. I just don't read into it. I surf all the time, and will paddle out the next morning after seeing the movie :thumbsup

The fact that its low budget puts it at the top of my list. They have to work harder to make it work. High budget flicks usually suck.

RRACY 08-05-2004 05:51 PM

REALLY BAD ACTING.:1orglaugh
